How do I impress his old world grandmother?

I'm supposed to meet my boyfriend's parents in a week, which is fine, because I'm usually good with parents, but it turns out that after I meet his parents, we're going to have dinner with his grandmother, who came from Greece. He says she is very conservative (not politically conservative, but like old-fashioned conservative). We're both 20, and we've only been dating for about a month (so "boyfriend" is sort of an umbrella term for what we are). But I want to make sure she likes me, because he is pretty close with her, and I don't want her to think I'm slutty. Obviously I'll dress nicely, and not show off too much, but I'm afraid I'll say the wrong thing, or look too ugly for her taste (not sure what she considers pretty.for example I'm very skinny and she might think that looks unhealthy). What do I do?

I would wear a sweater and a long (like knee length) skirt. Also, wear your makeup and hair as natural as you can.

If you're religious at all, that's definitely safe conversation territory. As is anything concerning school or your family. Try to avoid politics, money, and obviously sex haha. If you have a somewhat traditional job that works for conversation. If you like to cook? Talk about that.

i know this is pretty basic but I'm from a really conservative family and that's usually what gf/bfs talk about when they meet the family. OO if you guys eat, help with clearing the table and doing dishes. good luck!

You're not going to be able to fool a grandmother who's not senile, so don't even TRY. That would be the worst thing you could think of doing. Just be yourself, skinny or not.good idea to dress conservatively.

I would ask her about the family history, how they left Greece.it could be quite a sad story so be ready for that. Don't interrupt her and be sympathetic, and watch for clues that she doesn't want to talk about some things. Watch your boy friend for nonverbal clues to drop a subject.

You should probably ask him ahead of time what subjects to avoid, so you don't need to think on your feet so much.
