Going to a bar by yourself?

due to economic situations I came back to my parents house, and am taking some classes to finish my bachelors. the neighborhood is boring. its far as far away from the city as possible. I would only occasionally go to a bar with friends when I lived by myself. I don't know anyone in this neighborhood.

i a m 26. I am not a bar person, but... there isn't much to do here, I don't know does it seem awkward or bad going to a bar by oneself? . I feel pretty isolated here, in the fitness center its almost only older people.

I wonder the same thing all the time. However, as a girl I may have different concerns then you. If you are confident enough with yourself, go for it. I don't have a lot of experience but I would think it would be less awkward at a pub or sports bar rather than a classic bar

No, especially not for a guy. Try going when the local team is playing on TV and you'll be around lots of folks. Also, try the library or the gym if you don't like the bar so much.
