I’m always waking up around 12midnight, 3 o’clock, and or 6 o’clock before my alarm.
There are a few nights that I can but it’s either my cat wakes me up or I just can’t sleep. I don’t know if it’s because I’m stressed or something
- Keep your room cold and bury yourself under blankets.
- Meditate or self hypnotize while lying down. Blocking out thoughts and relaxing your face. Relaxing your face is really important but so is general physical muscle relaxation. Just relax and focus on your breathing and how that breathing feels.
- Don't drink any liquids a couple hours before.
- No caffeine or alcohol at least four hours before. Preferably don't drink alcohol as that screws up sleep.
- Black out your room.
- Wear ear muffs for sleeping.
- Set a regular sleep schedule. If necessary, set a bedtime alarm. Don't stay up late or sleep in on weekends. Don't take naps.
- If you wake up to pee. Don't go unless you absolutely have to. If you can. Go back to sleep and break the habit. As getting up, walking around, turning on lights, &c. Will make it difficult to go back to sleep. At least open your eyes as little as possible and keep lighting as dim as possible. Maybe even consider a chamber pot and hand sanitizer near your bed. If this is an issue.
The last paragraph is horrible advice. ALWAYS always ALWAYS pee when you have to pee.
Also, you will have much better sleep if you DO wake up in the middle of the night and pee and then go back to sleep.
@Jamie05rhs he just means how sometimes we just have that slight feeling of going to pee, but you're too sleepy so if thats the case try being like "ok ima get up, just a wittle more sleep" and you'll fall back asleep. and he's right as how if we do get up and go pee and turn on lights, it makes it a bit difficult to go back to sleep. I've experienced this so ima agree with him
@ItsMeElliana Oh. Well, you shouldn't turn on the lights. That's the main issue. Use a night light or something.
@Jamie05rhs I agree if I have to go and I just don’t turn on the lights or try to pick up my phone.
Thanks!
@Jamie05rhs @ItsMeElliana Yep, that's all I meant. Because often when you wake up in the middle of the night, because of something else. You just have something like a half or quarter load and sort of need to pee. But your body has a great internal clock. So, if you wake up then decide to go to the bathroom at 3AM a couple times. You'll end up always doing that.
That's why I suggest limiting the liquids and diuretics before bed. So, you get everything out before bed.
If I actually need to go. I will. I just do what I can to prevent the habit.
That's also why I suggested the chamber pot. Yea, it's gross. That's just something for someone with a medical condition which requires frequent urination. The idea being to minimize movement and time standing. I'm glad I don't need that. But is something I'd consider to make sleep easier. If going all the way to the bathroom wakes you up too much.
Keep the cat out, make it dark, no screens an hour before sleep, no caffeine an hour before sleep, a night mask and ear plugs as needed. If you still can't sleep, work out for half an hour, the hour before sleep. If all that doesn't help, go see a doctor.
There are a bunch of things that you can do, A night time tea, something with valerian root is good, you can also take a slow release melatonin that helps. Alcohol actually is detrimental to getting a good nights sleep so don't drink before bed. Limit screen time a half hour before going to sleep. Exercise helps, try going for a walk or doing some yoga. Mindful meditation can also be beneficial. Though humans are creatures of habit so routine is helpful. If you wake up in the middle of the night, don't get up, don't turn on the lights, etc.
do some good tiring work in the morning and take a hot shower make sure the room you're sleeping in is not hot and not too cold should be cool to make you comfy and all snugged up, and well, sleep early and hopefully works that way, for me it would

- stop drinking all caffeine
-put blackout curtains in your room
-cover all LED lights. radio/phone/everything.
- go to bed the same time every night
- have something to calm your mind at night. Something that relaxes your thinking
For me I have an audio that I listen to that walks me through a mental exercise that specifically calms down the thoughts. This alone makes a big difference coupled with no light in the room.
Bare minimum I'd say 1. No caffeine 2. Blackout curtain 3. Calm your mind
Stop with blue screens. Doctors recommend you should stop looking at screens and blue lights 4 hours before bed. You should instead opt for soft light, reading, meditation, and also make sure you eat nothing. Stick to just drinking water or some peppermint tea.
I really find that stretching before bed helps me, because it loosens up my muscles and I don’t wake during the night with numbness, or muscle discomfort. Reading versus stirring it any type of electronic screen, is also helpful for me. I try to go to bed hydrated because I think that’s good for your body. You need to evaluate your daytime routine and try to balance out the stressors of daytime with relaxation of those stressors in the evening.
Wish I knew, cuz I'm the same. People say melatonin (which is a natural supplement) works, but it didn't really work for me..
Same here I either get on here or go to the random chat site after they have and find somebody chat with or even masturbate go to sleep well if you ever come on here hit me up I'll chat with you can you get tired if I'm awake
Comfort food works for me... most of the time.
When I have problems falling asleep, I eat something sugary, a donut, some cereal. That usually makes me sleepy.
Write down racing thoughts. Then you don’t have to think of them, they are waiting for you in the morning.
Get off your phone and use a bluelight filter for a start.
Eat less sugar, carbs, taurine and caffeine.
I have to be really tired. And have a clear mind with nothing bothering me. My heart and soul have to be in synced.
There's nothing wrong with waking up. Just lie back down and go back to sleep.
I tried everything I finally told my doctor and she prescribed me a sleep med hydroxyzine which isn’t habit forming and I usually knock out within 30 minutes and stay sleep. I don’t take it everyday as somedays I just fall asleep late but it helps
eat a healthy dinner early in the evening. After that, no food. Do some exercise early as well. Stay off your electronics. REad a book. Take a warm bath, and a delta8 gummy.
Get older lol. seriously i feel like i fall asleep wayy more these days than i used to.
You sleep less as you grow older, lol.
@threebelles not me
Dont have kids. Lol. I haven't had uninterruped sleep in 8 years
I try to go to bed at the same time every night. I have a heated mattress pad and it is very relaxing.
For me, medicine to help me sleep, such as Benadryl.
Clear your mind of trouble put your cat in the living room not in your bedroom also get plenty of exercise in and eat healthy then you can sleep for eight hours nonstop. Drink plenty of water
So you have set alarm for same time every morning.
Is cat in same room or bed?
Why does it wake you up?
Where is your phone while you sleep?
What do you do once you are awake?
Do you wake up to use rest room?
If i take valerian root im usually out pretty good, skullcap is also good its lighter but it helps me feel more rested by the morning and chamomile tea is good too to help settle in for the night
I haven't had a good night's sleep in a while either. I've tried everything. Some things worked better than others but I felt exhausted all day long
