For me, I started running more often. I do lots of yoga but increased my cardio workouts.

I was a competitive sprinter and long jumper and vert skater growing up. So I tend to train in these a lot. The skateboarding I don't do as much these days since I live hours away from the nearest vert ramp.
Yet I do my sprint intervals all the time, constantly timing my 100m dash. I can't beat my teenage PR of 10.3 secs but I can still stay under 11.5. It's one of my ultimate ways to get in shape and stay in shape. When my times start to exceed 12 secs, I clean everything up and train really hard until I'm below 11.5 again. I might have to compromise to under 12 seconds by my 50s; right now I settle at under 11.5.
My nutrition is also pretty tight. I only eat junk around once a month. My main nutrition leak though is alcohol; I'm trying to cut down on it (I managed to go the first weekend this weekend in over a year without drinking, thanks to @lightbulb27 who dared me to do it).
I also do some calisthenics motions. At the very least I try to do 3 sets of push-ups and pull-ups to max every other day. Sometimes that's all I end up doing besides my sprint intervals, but I try to at least do those. I tend to get most motivated to amp things up and start going to the gym during the summer.
Mr. Volatile, I'm surprised you didn't get into downhill mountain bike racing, motocross, or x-games jumping. I did motocross, be really good for your psyche. Japan seemed to be into those sports from what I've heard. just no alcohol... motors and alcohol don't together.
@lightbulb27 I'm actually heavily tempted to start trying motorcycle airs! I'm inspired a lot by Metal Mulisha (fun starts at 3:50):
https://youtu.be/ifsYVObtQzU
Motocross racing seems too difficult to me. I'm into go-cart racing (my family-in-law invited me to join their amateur team, and we compete quite seriously) and I discovered that I'm a terrible racer when it comes to judging speeds and distances for sharp turns. I tend to end up drifting and crashing. I kind of epitomize the Asian driving stereotype when I attempt to race. :-D Spatial awareness doesn't seem to be a strong point of mine.
But if it's just using an engine to do airs off a ramp, that seems a bit more analogous to me with respect to what I do on skateboard on a vert ramp, and I might be able to at least leverage the instincts I've developed over a lifetime of falling to fall in ways that minimize injuries.
I'm seriously tempted! More so with the passing years since I've lost some of the power in my legs to do airs as large as I used to be able to do, and I also lost my big toe on my left foot in an injury a couple of years ago that has negatively impacted my skating. So it might be rather naive but I'm thinking I might be able to compensate for the loss of power in my body with the power of a motorcycle engine to shoot into the air once more.
Motocross like anything else is hard til you get it, then just like riding a bike. Have to use everything at once. But I don't do big jumps anymore and never did tricks, that's another level. Im not the daredevil type.
Yes, I remember the Metal Mulisha when that started... they've up the "crazy" to new heights.
Go kart racing sounds good, cool! But no jumps and bumps, it's all arms. that's why I like motocross... I'm exhausted after 8 laps.
sounds like you need that adrenaline hit from competition and thrills, but with a safety factor.
Sorry to hear about your toe, can't imagine... barefoot and scraped it on a landing?
@lightbulb27 It's a very stupid drunken injury, not related to any sport I was doing. :-D Sort of a permanent daily reminder now to me that I should take it easier on the drinking.
I think tricks are the main thing that appeals to me most along with training to master new tricks/motions. Sprinting is kind of an exception but I got into sprinting through skateboarding rather than the other way around. I think the type of muscles I built skateboarding vert ramps happened to coincide with the types required to sprint fast and jump long and high, so I ended up finding myself on the track team not so much out of interest as just being the fastest sprinter back then.
But I tend to be more attracted to the adrenaline and also maybe the "art". I like the expressivity and creativity of mastering tricks and coming up with our own.
always looked fun to me, but outside my comfort. like ski jumping for distance and stunts, gymnastics... unique minds that can do that.
My uncle nearly killed himself being "high", that and other motivators made it easy for me to say no. Cookies are my addiction where I can't stop and I have to manage that:) So I bike, so I can eat more cookies:) It's good to stay off the alcohol... sounds like you don't need it, just replace with other thrills and down time. when you start... like me with cookies/sweets... the control switch isn't there to stop and craving gets greater. It's a dopamaine hit in the brain, a reward for whatever reason. Sugar and alcohol in reality, are both bad news, in moderation most is ok.
@lightbulb27 Cheers! One thing about alcohol for me is that it might not be so much the dopamine that appeals to me. I'm a "hyperthinker" when I'm sober. I distinguish that from "overthinker" which is something I suffered a lot in my teens since overthinking tends to veer towards very negative thoughts driven by strong emotions.
I've gotten over that with some discipline of the mind, but my mind is still hyperactive racing with thoughts. It gets a bit tiring. So the only ways I've found to slow down the mind are intense physical activities and alcohol.
Alcohol slows down my thinking in ways that actually, in the early stages, seem so relaxing. You know how some people can just sort of zone out and think about nothing, like a person fishing and you ask them what they're thinking about and they seem to sincerely be able to say, "nothing?" Perhaps you can do that. I can't.
If I tried to fish, fishing is such an idle activity that my mind would be racing with thoughts... unless I drank some beers, and then I start to reach a point where I can almost think about nothing.
That might be one of the stronger appeals of alcohol to me.
I can relate to that in my own way, I have a busy mind and mx and some activities make me focus 100%, it feels good... therapy! Mystep daughte complains of this reality as well... can't shut her mind down.
I suspect this is due to the pesky amygdala and hypothalamus maxd out with stress that it needs activity... like if you've seen children... the more tired they get, the more hyper they become. Or you have strong emotional side (right side). It be fascinating to get brain scans and some deep understanding of why we do what we do and how to balance it out. I find music is bad for me unless it has no order to it... else a repeitive song/sound will get stuck in my head all day. I have to be careful with my brain.
Could be food too... like allergies and your brain over driving.
I've dabbled enough in trying to understand myself I can attest, I don't know what I'm talking about but sound like I might:) lol. I know where to point... but we humans are tough nuts to crack and all need to find our way to balance. Pattersn of behavior go back 3 generations or more, takes a lot of discovery and training to break the chains of what has been conditioned... or just manage and make the most of.
The sub conscious emotions are driving most of this... what has been learnt... emotionally. Somewhere in there, is personality as well.
enjoy your day!
@lightbulb27 Cheers!
I work out 6 days a week for an hour
Walk and jog for one hour
I don't smoke dont drink don't do drugs and I am vegetarian
I also keep my mind clear
Thanks for the reply. I think the last bit is important. Another user responded about keeping good mental health as important. Can't agree more.
You mind controls everything if that is disturbed nothing will function properly
I used to be in my school’s swim team, but quit due to COVID (it was not really my choice, I had to).
I run everyday for about 7kms either in the morning or in the evening. Depends on my schedule. Yoga was and still is, a mandatory class in school. I’ve been doing Yoga since 6th grade.. so for about 6 years now. It calms my mind, but sometimes, while doing a couple of aasanas, I can’t help but stress out about something.. like there is something or the other going through my mind which prevents me from truly calming down. I’m way too impatient lol. I do Pilates in the weekends along with running. I do Yoga on Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
My diet hasn’t really changed. I make sure to eat healthy food.. my mom has always empathized on taking care of our health. My only problem is that I don’t drink enough water. I definitely should change that.
I wish I could learn cycling, but I live in a bustling city, so unfortunately, it isn’t really an ideal or a safe place to cycle
emphasized*
I'm eating healthy most of the time, I drink enough water, I exercise and also keep myself mentally healthy too
That is an excellent point of mental health being important. Thanks!
It's very important, after all it doesn't do you any good to be mentally drained
Completely agree. That can effect so many other physical things such as sleep or even the will to exercise. A very good point to bring up.
Yeah exactly

Im as active as I can be... going to gym playing b-ball, weights... walking, cycling outdoors, ride motocross, and yard work. my body doesn't handle as much as used to so I have to take it easy and know my limits else it takes days to want to move again. On my birthday I bicycle my age in miles.
Im in decent shape now relative to when covid kicked me to the curb, but I feel my age... something is soar all the time. friends of mine slightly older take meds to manage the continual pain, I just take the pain so far.
I drink water and tea and some coffee, that's it. no soda, I've cut out most sweets and eat good diet thanks to my honey @midnightmoon05.
I do indulge in these French cookies from Costco. Sugar is my medicine/achiles heel? Important to work out the jaw muscles and enjoy life.
Wow you bicycle you age in miles? That is very impressive! I'm very fit but not sure I could do my age in miles tbh.
I do, I used to do 100 mile rides in my 40's. It's all a matter of conditioning, just have to build up to it... your body can do it. stay healthy, and avoid injuries!
Honestly since school reopened I am living a very unhealthy lifestyle by overworking myself. I have been skipping every Breakfast and lunch meals everyday at school so I can get time to write few poems and songs which will be published under school magazines. I am waking up super early like 3-4 am to study. I'm sleeping around 12-1 am. I am not taking anymore naps and that 4 hrs sleep is all I have. I have became more stressed for high school life and elders telling me everyday that 9th grade is tough and if I don't do good enough then I will fail.
That is not good to overwork yourself and not get enough sleep!
I hope it does too for you. Stay tough! 😊
I enjoy keeping fit but on my tirms. I spent some time in the military it was forced participation. Running formation sometimes the fastest Runners up front this floor runners in the back so much inconsistency. Running in formation there are a lot of knee and foot injuries. I've had hip replacement. I love riding bicycles and hiking. I purchased a Schwinn airdyne. Elliptical bicycle this Bike is for inclement weather and winter. I travel about 8 miles a day for a half hour, during the week and on weekends approximately an hour and a half, for about 24 miles.
Unfortunately, where I live is not a great place to ride bicycles. However, I do enjoy it when I can because it is low impact. You do quite a bit to stay in shape. Nice!
I think I do pretty good man in my early seventies.
Certainly sounds like you do more than good for just about any age.
I could do a lot more.. but in general I have some good habits, while avoiding or quit bad ones
I never smoked, or get wasted (drunk), I don't do drugs... I used to sleep very little because of many reasons but in the last years I've gotten better at that, sleep more as well as having some actual rest at nights
when it comes to my diet, it's also been a few years now since I have a much better and balanced diet, based on home made meals and as less processed food as possible, also drinks lots of water (tons because this is Texas)
I don't like gyms at all, I don't do well with routine workouts either, but I've been actively in sports for over 20 years and that's how I keep healthier, fit and in shape and also!! works very great to relieve some stress and to blow some stamina out of which there can be plenty, sometimes
I just remembered... playing with the kittens all afternoon should count as a workout, because it really is... lol
I have been eating better and I workout 4-5 times a week. I am trying to lose some weight. Last year my doc wanted to put me on blood pressure meds and I am trying to get it down without drugs. I had it measured last month and it was almost where it should be.
That is awesome! Glad you were able to get it under control with healthy habits instead of medications. Congrats!
@PrettyPriya Yes, I have been taking cholesterol meds for years. I do not want to start on another pill.
@exitseven I completely understand. Best to change habits rather than throwing meds at a problem. Glad you were able to do it naturally with good diet and working out. Keep it up my friend!
I have been doing more walking, just so I can maintain a good level of general fitness, but definitely not doing gym or anything like that. That's a step too far for me.
I have always tried to eat healthily, and am definitely carrying on with that so that I stay in the best condition for when we're going to be trying for a baby.
I've never been one for caffeine or alcohol, but I'm making sure that I always drink plenty of water, despite the fact that my bladder has always been a bit unpredictable at night.
I haven't really changed a great deal as I've always been healthy, and I want to keep it that way.
I had started up at the gym, was keeping pretty regular schedule too until I got Covid a few weeks ago, haven't been able to shift the cough since so having to take a break but planning to get back to it once I can go longer than 5 minutes without it feeling like I'm trying to bring up a lung.
That being said, not doing it for my own health but to try to look better, it's not something I enjoy doing, but I'm unwanted the way I look right now so need to do something.
I'm sorry to hear about getting covid. I had it too. Luckily, my only symptom was extreme fatigue. It went away pretty quickly. Understandable to ease back into it as you feel better.
Hope that happens for you soon and thanks for the reply!
I'm fairly active, or try to be. I do fitness bootcamp 5-6 days a week, for an hour each session. Depending on the week, it can be endurance, strength, or a combination of both!
In addition, I do running, walking, kickboxing, jump rope. I love walking on my breaks at work to not only destress, but get up and move around since I have a sedentary job.
As for diet/eating habits? It... could be better? LOL. I'm currently doing IF (intermittent fasting), but for the most part, I eat what I want. I just watch portion sizes and stay active. And cut out carbonated drinks, and drink teas and water mostly.
With the number of injuries I've sustained over the years as well as my arthritis, diabetes, and a heart condition, anything more than my stationary bike, hand weights, and Bow flex, would be too much.
Those are all still great forms of exercise. Sounds like good low impact activities. Thanks for the reply!
I wake up early in the morning... 1st drink 2 glass of warm water when wake up then I go for running 🏃, and in breakfast 🥣 I take some eggs 🥚 and sometime cereals with low fat mostly time with fresh juice or low fat milk 🥛 and in the evening go to gym ⛹️ and in dinner mostly time eat salad with crispy cod with sweet potatoes
Warm kale Quinoa...
I've always stayed fit. and it's why I tell people that getting in shape doesn't have to be difficult. The hardest part is putting your mind in gear. Once you do that? It's a doddle.
I play Rugby once a week
Weights 3/4 times a week
Running 2, 3 or 4 times a week
Boxing or Krav Maga once a week
For my physical health, I exercise very regulary. I run, I go to the gym and play drums.
For my mental health, I take long walks or drives to clear my head. When I'm alone I talk to myself out loud (which makes me understand my thoughts easier) and overall just try not to stress over stupid things.
I’ve started to cut out more alcohol from my diet. This may sound strange, but I’m trying not to overdo it in terms of my cardio. Sometimes overdoing it can be too much of an energy drain and I don’t have enough gas left for the other parts of my life.
I have been really lazy during the winter. I didn't exercise and eat a lot of junk food. As a result I have gained weight and became really out of shape. :( I'm very dissapointed about that. So recently I started running to lose weight and cellulite and became more toned for the bikini season.
That's great you are getting back in shape! Good luck and enjoy the summer. 😊
Well, you will get there eventually. I use those resistance bands for arms. Try some yoga if you don't already do it. Good for core work. Plus, no equipment needed and you can do it most anywhere.
I have a local gym membership nearby, I go at least 3 times a week, I'm not so much worried about building body strength more so than just staying physically fit and active. 😊
I use a treadmill and their pool and practice my backstrokes. It's heart pounding and super fun to spend an evening, especially if I'm off work or if my husband is accompanying me. 💕
Beside eating/drinking healthy, our mental health plays a very big role in how we feel in our body and mind ofcourse. If you’re constantly ungrateful, sad, angry etc etc that all causes the body becoming ill. Like stubborn people always got achy knees lol
I agree completely with the mental health part.
I can now proudly say that I have healthy food habits, working on the sleep, drinking more water and electrolytes. but I need to get back to exercising… I was soo good with it but then I fell off and now I’m a bit too busy (and lazy lol)
I'm trying to eat less and exercise more, especially walking. I've never been into going to the gym, but I walk a lot, at least 3-4 miles (5-6.5 km) a day.
I just recently join planet fitness to keep my body sexy. 😻
Awesome!
😻😻
Healthy diet, gym, walking, and "other" forms of exercise 😏
Or goodness Daniel. Had to sneak that in there didn't you? 🤣
@PrettyPriya
I don't know what you mean?
“Other” forms 😐
How are you not a mod yet?
It might be a size thing. Admin jealousy. We could be debunking whose really anon and asking those questions, daily.. (ignore todays “I don’t want to be a mod jab” I litter around. 😬 Is this reportable for suicidal tendencies? Steps back out.)
@dustybiker you would be a great mod for the site
@NathanDavis Aren’t you supposed to be focusing on blocking me? 🤣 All my efforts here.
@NathanDavis And thanks by the way. lol
@dustybiker nope, and I never would... never had reasons to either, lol
@NathanDavis Friends are supposed to have your back too. 😁 smh (as people like to say here lol)
@dustybiker and I do... lol
I'll get all ready for the BBQ weekend
@NathanDavis Don’t forget the trash can story.
@dustybiker on yeah... I have three different ones now
@NathanDavis going to DM to leave poor @DonkeyDan alone now. Hope he took my warped humor the right way. 🤪
stretching once I wake up usually by following a yoga video or just in bed stretching my hips back and all of that. I stretch even in the shower and I have very short hair so I don't care if it gets wet since it will dry quickly. As well as when cooking. I also just do 30 to 60-minute strength-based workouts from youtube or just bike which is my main mode of transportation so that usually helps a lot with the cardio portion and clearing my mind.
The best way to stay healthy aside from exercise is to consume lots of Vitamins and stay away from all pharmaceuticals. Seriously, don't even take Tylenol. That crap will mess up your liver. Unfortunately fruits and vegetables don't contain as many vitamins anymore nowadays. So you'll have to supplement. But use quality products only. This approach has worked for me.
i bought a bike at the end of last year as a Christmas present to myself and i try to ride everyday. it was a bit tough since the apparent bike shortage but besides that i honestly love it, reminds me of when i was little and used to bike a lot.
I'm in a weight loss program where I'm drinking shakes and so far I've lost 10 pounds after 2 weeks. Eventually I'm going to eat more calories and understand that if I never want to eat shakes again, I cannot go nuts with food like I once did.
Few occasional sports, a few diets and gym sessions! :)
Running
Various work outs in the woods
back to mountain biking from next weekend
I just sleep a lot more 😴
I try to exercise but I get to tired after work
Sleep is important, but so is being active. Try walks even. 👍
I do walk a lot at work I average around 7000-10000 steps a day
That’s awesome!
So, maybe I don't need to that much exercise 🤔🤔
I like to jog, ride my bike or go hiking. I also eat a pretty good diet. Nice to see you Priya. :)
Good to see you as always! 😊
Well I like to dance, I try to drink a lot of water and I do a lot of walking at school to get to class on time
I train a lot and watch what I eat and make good money and keep my family happy all this is my perfect stress killer no stress equals a strong immune system 🥰
I am resting right now, because my shoulders are sore and I don't think it would be healthy to work them again.
Eat healthier, train and move in various ways, drink a lot of water, various teas and meditation along with positive book readings.
Having some tea myself at the moment. 😊
Darjeeling
It is a style? To me, it is tea.
Well, to me it is tea. I haven't had another style other than what I get local.
5 miles walking or running 7 days a week.
I eat clean fish fruit vegetables
I lift dumbells jump rope pushups. Sit-ups 10-15 mins usually average all together

I go to the gym Monday through Saturday and Sunday I take the day off, I walk in the evenings, and love going hiking.
Switched from Cokes to Coke Zero to get rid of some of the sugar intake.
I'm a vegetarian. I eat right. get no more than Eight hours sleep. I workout daily. Stay away from stress and negative influences and make sure to give myself plenty of Orgasms.
Lots of runs and walks each day with my dogs, as well as home remodeling and landscaping on weekends.
I have been hitting weights and healthier diet 💪

That sounds so wrong… 😐
@PrettyPriya lmao I didn’t mean like that!
yucky!! someone has a dirty mind… lmfao🤣🤣
@Blackcupcake @bigpauly
Time for me to consult my moderator manual on expected behaviour once again. 😞
@PrettyPriya I’m dead!!🤣🤣🤣
@PrettyPriya lmao
Upon consultation, I have reported myself as explicit. Because I self reported, I now have to also report myself for suicidal tendencies. Vicious cycle. 😕
what the heck is this conversation lmao? it’s giving me ✨chaotic✨ vibes and I’m lovin it. You guys are hilarious! 🤣
heck yeah, lol
@wonderbell99 lmfao…🤣❤️❤️
I've just started a healthy eating regime of sorts.
