Have you ever had general anaesthesia?

Twice. One time my surgeon told me they had difficulty waking me up. I was a bit surprised he told me that, but I am the type of person who likes information and truth, especially when it comes to my health, so I'm glad he did. But it does worry me more if I have to go under again. I hate medical procedures so much. I wanted to run away from the hospital bed.
For my wisdom teeth surgery. It was okay I woke up telling the nurse that I felt okay but 2 mintues later when I had to get in the car I was freaking out in pain cause I didn't have any meds yet. I've also had epidurals but that is a different type of anesthesia not fully under like general.

Yes, over 30 times. I have had issues with being aware when they were pulling the ventilator tubing out of my airway.
I had the OR slip up and gave me a massive dose of narcotic in my IV line and did not flush the line with saline. When I got to the PACU my nurse went to flush the line and I just about passed out. The OR didn't flush the line to make sure the narcotic cleared the line. So when the nurse flushed the line I got a whopping dose of narcotic. Scared the shit out of the nurse so bad she was crying.
Depends on which one.
When I was 8-9 years old and had a tonsillectomy, I received nitrous and was burping up that crap for 3-4 days!
When I had sedation for eye surgery, or spinal + local for shoulder surgery, it was much better with the IV anesthesia.
I fucking wish!!! So I crushed 6 teeth when I was a kid and I have... well had 2 silver caps left after all the adult teeth came in.
So turns out it don't matter if you brush 2 times a day, the teeth rot under those caps. Now because I have a kid I couldn't get put under because kid. On top of all of that my stupid body has some kind of immunity against the kill pain shots they kept just jabbing in there. Those shots are nothing compared to them ripping a tooth out without anything for the pain. I had some poor lady holding my hand like I was giving birth.
Yep, twice. It went fine both times; it usually does. It's not QUITE like falling asleep, but it's pretty similar. The second time, I was in SERIOUS pain- I wound up having to drive myself to the hospital, and had to pull over every few blocks to vomit out the window- so I wasn't really in the best position to observe, but the effects of anesthesia didn't change much between them. I DID come out of it faster the first time, but then, it was a milder surgery; they may have hit me with more the second time when I was already out; I don't know.
4 times. It stays in your system for quite a while. One surgery was to remove a large tumor that was attached to one kidney and my lower back and a couple other organs. My back has been a mess since age 14. After that tumor surgery and a four day stay in the hospital I was released. For the next few months my lower back had absolutely no pain! There is more to this. However, this is why I have liked getting a general anesthetic. For me it was always worth it. Good luck with your procedure.
No, I've had local anesthesia before at the dentist, but never general (I've never had any major surgery). I imagine it must be really scary. What if something goes wrong and you never wake up again
That scares me too.
I just went through surgery four days ago they inject Lidocaine into my scalp to do hair transplant surgery. It felt like a series of bee stings. After it went numb they went ahead to cut my skin and puncture the top of my head for graft sites of new hair. I could feel everything they were doing but it didn't register as pain just feeling. I tried to scratch my head but my head couldn't feel my hand.
Yes it went fine. Twice actually. It’s important to check out history of anesthesiologist
Used to love the laughing gas when hitting the private parties.
Once. Was fine. Easily fall asleep, little groggy when woke up
yes. I have had it a few years ago. It really was not much fun.
No, but I've had major pain, corporal punishment and private conversations.
Yes several times. No issues.
Yeah about 4 times now in my life
