A little over a month ago I took 15 benadryl. Not because I wanted to kill myself, but because my job won't let me smoke Marijuana, and I just wanted to get high. Thats what I told the e. r. staff and my doctor I know it taking the benadryl was stupid, and no one should ever do it. Anyways, I started tripping out and seeing things that weren't there and my mom took me to the e. r.. I went to see my doctor almost a month ago because jaw was popping and it hurt. She found out what happend and why I went to the e. r. and she wants me to see a therapist. In order to do that I will have to go to this mental health facility early in the morning and get an assessment to see a therapist. Well I have really bad social anxiety and don't want to do that. I'll be seeing my doctor on the 7th regarding mental health. I told her I would see a therapist. Someone told me she could make me go to a mental hospita if I refuse treatment. Can she really do that?
Yikes, sorry. Yes she can do that, she could go to the court and get legal say in your mental health. I work at a mental health clinic out patient. A 30 yr old woman patient broke her restraining order from her ex boyfriend and at the time the girl was seeing a psychiatrist. Per the law the Dr. Could not share info with the mother.. until she got a court order that she shows she has legal say in her daughters life. Go to therapy, be honest and don't do drugs they ruin your life, slowly

Okay. Think of this. What if they end up making you feel better?
It’s scary to imagine what could happen, but how often is it as bad as we imagine? A month from now you might be glad you jumped through their hoops.
Yes, if they thought you were suicidal or a threat to others, then they would have to notify the police.
Unlikely unless she can get someone to agree that you are a danger to yourself or others.
