A bit… saw a therapist for 9 months, i came to realize some of the relationships i had (in my family) were toxic to me and that was a very important step in my life and I don’t think I would realized it alone, or it was definitely good to have someone I trusted to confirm it. Like everyone uses that term ‘toxic’ all the time now but it really was preventing me from living basically. You remove that ‘toxic element’ and day by day life comes back in you. Your mind is like the body, it heals, and understanding what is wrong is most of the treatment it needs. Sometimes understanding alone doesn’t solve the problem but it is usually a bit step in that direction. It all sounds simple but it’s not, you have to find yourself the unique problem that you have in your life and solve it…
it took me soooo long to open up and trust this therapist, and I did trust her in the end, but she retired and I can’t bring myself to find someone else as I can’t bear therapists who just repeat stuff or give very common explanations without knowing a thing about you. Most therapists are not so good, they just have a degree… Therapy can actually be detrimental i believe so you have to be careful with who you chose…

I’ve been going to a therapist for my anxiety and self esteem issues. I think overall it’s helpful, but also making lifestyle changes helps more. Therapy helps me identify and work towards goals, and a professional outside perspective is valuable to me
