I'm trying to lose weight. I want to get toned also. I just heard body recomp is really difficult so you should focus on losing fat first. I'm a good 50 lbs overweight.

Long distance cardio is what raises cortisol levels. The solution is to do something which is shorter and more intense. Sprints are better than jogging for example.
