Anyone lose FAT by just dieting? (No exercise)

Let me make it clear that I'm not being lazy by ditching the gym, I actually LOVE the gym. It's just I had surgery on my shoulder that isn't 100%, and I'm about to go through knee surgery..So yeah, my gym options are pretty limited!

I know that weight-training is the best way to burn body fat, I'm sad that I cannot do that. But I have to lose weight. I just want to know how efficient losing fat is while only dieting well. What was your experience?

How many pants sizes have you lost in how much time?

**I really am against the scale, because you can lose muscle mass and lose "weight."**
