I’m so discouraged I was calorie counting, and exercising (burning an extra 350-600 calories a day) and then I gained weight! :( what am I doing wrong?

It's not an overnight thing; your body weight will normally fluctuate like that. Focus more on the long term goals, and if you're focused on cardio, pay more attention to your stamina than your weight. It's perfectly normal.

You may have gained some muscle, which could be healthy and normal for the first weeks. Keep going and see what happens.
Maybe nothing. Have your muscle/fat ratio checked (they can do with a special scale). If you loose fat but gain muscle, your weight can increase, but you will look more toned.
