What age does it start getting more difficult to lose the weight?

The first time I lost weight was when I was a teenager because I was sick and tired of being fat and overweight. My mama said to quit whining about it and do something about it and so I did. She also told me it is best to do it while you're young, because when you get older (like her and dad, just saying) it is harder to lose the weight. She was in her 40s when she told me. Is it when you're in your 40s or 30s. in my young adult years (my early/mid 20s) I went from 230 to 189 or 190 and that's the slimmest I've been in my adult life. Then I lost about 40 or 41 pounds. Plus I am about 5'9" if you're wondering. I was never a slender person. When one of my college best friend's unexpectedly passed away, I was devastated. I gained most of the weight back and ate junk food because I was depressed. I realized what I was doing and I told myself to stop and I got back into workout out. I've been struggling for a couple years. I'm currently 33 going to be 34 and I am still struggling. I do my best to eat healthy and I'll admit I don't always eat well but I don't eat junk all the time. I realized sometimes I eat too much calories so I'm cutting that down. I do workout a couple days a week 5-7 days. I feel like it's getting more difficult, I don't want to admit this, but I think it is because I am getting older and that's why the pounds aren't coming off. I get discourage and I'm still the same size or not. I am currently 208lbs. I don't do scales much anymore and just focus of getting healthier and stronger. No excuses. I think I'm not working hard enough. Anyways enough of blabbing. What age does it start getting harder?
