I didn't start with a plan, but the Ai talked with a personal trainer and started taking courses to become onemyself, and I learned how to get in shape in a blanced way so that I can maintain it without tremendous effort. That;;s what having a plan will do for you. Ask a pesonal traine at any gym for help developing a plan.
You need to ovoid overworking one set of muscles and ignoring the others. Yoga is agood way to balance your muscles and work out cramps and also relax them so they can heal from overuse. Relaxing and resting has to be built into the plan. You will hurt yourself if you don't let the muscles rest when you're on a workout program.
You have to avoid being too compulsive..rest is necessary for the body too.

Initially I started doing workouts with dumbbells. A type of training called offset training. Then I started doing more advanced things. Now I do all sorts of things, but my favorite things are squats, suspension trainer exercises, and medicine ball exercises.
Join a sports team or sign up from tennis lessons or something. Unless it's a scheduled event or something official I find that it's nearly impossible to stay motivated and to make yourself do it.
