My question is...if someone can't do exercise for one reason or another, could he/she still lose weight? If yes, how?
Thanks.
May I ask why you don't want to hit the gym? Losing weight without hitting the gym is difficult but possible. You need to eat lots of veggies, fruits, fishes, less red meats however. Avoid any alcoholic drinks, sweet/artificial drinks... Too much calories and sweet.
if you are kind of person that doesn't like to exercise, what about doing Zumba? walkings? Do you enjoy biking?
When we stress, we prone to turn to any food for comfort, including junks. Next time you're stress, try to take a walk for a block or two and increase the distance each time. You're not only will soak up the Calcium from the Sun but getting the fresh air, the walkings help you releasing the endorphins. Zumba is another great activity; you'll meet people and is less strenghtuous workout. You'll sweating 800-1200 calories per hr.
Maintain a healthy living is hard but doable for anyone. Good luck.
Actually weight loss is mostly diet, followed by some support with exercise. The maximum amount of weight to healthily lose a week is two pounds which can be achieved by eating 1,200 calories per day (any lower and your body will go into starvation mode, which is bad for your metabolism and for weight loss), or 1,500 to lose one pound a week. The daily calories do vary based on your activity level. If you burn 200 calories at the gym and you plan on losing two pounds a week, you should probably eat 1,400 calories to stay healthy.
And in my personal experience, I lost ten pounds without any strenuous exercise other than walking for fun during the summer and kept it off.
Yes, it's possible but extremely difficult. You have to go on an almost insanely rigorous diet.
High protein, low carb, low fat, and tons of multi-vitamin supplements to avoid deficiencies that come from eating such a restricted diet.
If you reduce your calorie intake to something like 600 calories a day, where most of that 600 calories comes from protein and carbs, you will lose weight.
But this sort of diet is extremely hazardous, and is usually only done under the guidance of a doctor, and is only used in cases of extreme morbid obesity. The sort of humans are at high risk of death and can't move, never mind exercise.
It is not to be used by lazy sods who just don't like to exercise. They will invariably f*** it up, and get desperately sick, and probably put the weight back on.
Why 600 calories? Why not 1200? I think I'll still be buring like 500 calories/day.
It's to force the body into a ketogenic state, which avoids the possibility that the body instead goes into starvation mode. In starvation mode, your body is more likely to store calories as fat. This is impossible in a ketogenic state.
No carbs in a ketogenic diet, for the record. All 600 would be protein.
I've used sub 1k ketogenics for the record, with weekly carb load. I actually found it the best way to reshape how I used to eat.
sure you can. I used to weigh 210-215 lbs and now I dropped to around 175-180 with mostly diet and some exercise. Easiest thing you can do in my experience to drop some calories is change drinks to mainly water imo. It will not solely allow you to lose weight but it definitely is a simple way to drop a couple hundred calories a day without sacrificing any food.

I don't exercise but I get stress :/ when I get stress I lose weight rapidly (thou when I get stress I eat more than usual).
The time I eat isn't stable.
I sleep very late till I have eye bags.
I stop drinking beer.
Thats how I lose weight..dont know whether that could work for u..thou good luck!
When I'm stressed, I gain weight. That's basically how I gain weight each time. I'm really depressed. :/
Everyone can do something, even if it's just walking, stretching, doing a few sit ups..you don't have to be a boyd builder to get benefits frrom light workouts.
Of course you can still lose weight, but you'l lhave to really strict with your diet. Weight Watchers or a similar organization can plan it for you and even give you some diet desserts and the like.
well, it is possible but extremely difficult and might be unhealthy.
So a human needs a certain amount of calories everyday and certain nutrients. To lose weight you need to burn calories more that you take in. So its unhealthy not to eat many calories and take all the important nutrients at the same time.
to lose one pound of fat you need to lose 3,500 calories... Yes that is hard but if you're determined you can make it happen.
good luck :)
i guess it is not as hard as everyone says here just eat healthier than you did before and avoid sugar and fat and try to eat things which are good for your metabolism (like drink a lot of water and eat spicey food but just google it there you will find more tipps for this)
Very possible! I lost 20 LBS in a month by cutting out sugar, & refined carbs. Try taking little steps and eliminating things from your diet, you'll see a huge difference!
Yes, but you have to have a strict diet with no lapses. Even with a few, you would still lose some weight but the rate would be unbearably slow, especially for someone trying to change their life.
Reducing your calorie intake so it is at a deficit. It depends on you height and weight, but calorie counting is decently effective.
I believe so . You can change eating habits. No soda's, fast food or pastries.
What do you actually weigh?
165, why?
I avoid giving diet plans to anorexics.
