A question on blood tests.

This question came to me after watching season 2 of Weeds.

I've read up online in medical journals that people of Jewish faith are required to be genetically screened before events like marriage. This is in order to prevent a certain range of genetic conditions unique to their race/region.

Correct me if I'm wrong here; if a Jewish person marries outside of their faith, their partner would be required to take these blood tests as well. Yes?

What about someone who wants to take these blood tests for their own records?

Ok, so as long as they know what they need to be tested for; can any pathologist provide records?

Or does the blood sample need to be drawn by a pathologist in the presence of a third party (a Rabbi for example)?
