For those of you who spin 2-3 times a week, what workouts do you do the rest of the week? On my non-spin days, I have been doing 15 min of weights and 15 minutes of seated elliptical at a pretty high intensity. I am wondering if I ought to be giving my knees a rest on the non-spin days. What do you guys think? I do yoga once a week.
I think the more variety in both movement and intensity, the better.
Your plan sounds really good, it looks like you have the spinning days, which are legs/cardio/intense, then you have the weights which are strength/moderate, and the yoga, which is usually slower and stretching.
I would say maybe replace the 15 min of eliptical with another 15 min of weights or swiss ball or medicine ball or pilates.
I personally have had the best results when I do the most variety of things. I did weights on some days, sprints on other days, and yoga and pilates for the remaining workouts.
