How do you know if your body in good shape?

The scale obviously, but do you think it is reflected in the amount of opposite gender attention you receive?

p.s. I use my peripheral vision and I'm catching girls checking me out pretty hard quite frequently now when I work out... that's gotta be a good sign?

Why not meet their gaze with your own and offer a smile instead of sneaking a peak through your peripherals.

If they smile back you'll know they're at least friendly enough to talk to.

You're only limiting your growth by creating excuses for yourself. Sounds like you just need someone there to push you outside of your comfort zone.

Chances are you'll never meet these people again. Who cares what impression you make? Think of the situation as a social experiment. If it goes wrong you can just chalk it up to bad science and find a new method.

Haha! You're giving solid advice. The way I have been talking to myself is... when I reach my target weight everything will come right. Which seems to be quite true fortunately. So I'm telling myself what I need right now is less set backs, and more weight loss. I guess I need to adjust my thinking based on my observations... I mean, it gets to a point where a girl's interest is so obvious it is irrefutable. I'm scared to make a type one error?

Women are actually pretty lenient on looks. Guys just spend more time focusing on their body because its harder to measure your personality. Focus on confidence when talking to women and it will do more for you than muscle definition ever will.

The best way to gain confidence is repetition. Grab a buddy and go to a concert or the beach and talk to 100 women. Doesn't matter if your find them attractive or not, just focus on interacting with them. It might help if you are tipsy, but not drunk.

And remember, Einstein said insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results. If you're talking to 100 women and saying the same thing and still getting shot down, obviously you need to try something different. Not talk to a different woman. Do a quick GAG search on how women like to be approached. You'll find most of them just want a regular conversation without any bells or whistles. Be a normal interesting guy, first, and then you can show off later.
