I have started feeling sad having panic attacks. How do unemployed stay mentally healthy? Or don't they?
I might start working at my charity shop full time. Maybe that would help. I would rather practice my harp though, but that's not getting out .

Trending & News I did freelance web design work. I don't know what your major was but if a freelance market for it exists you can get work either through craigslist or elance. elance has lots of cheap foreign competition though so craigslist is better.
I feel you on the maintaining your sanity part though. it was so friggen boring being home alone.
That's a good idea. Web design is very competative. I am creating a website for a charity, but I think I just need to get out.
My degree is computing.
It is really boring. I really don't know how someone could choose to stay at home.
Yes, while you have the time and energy, practice music. That should calm you and help with the panic attacks. Don't put so much pressure on yourself. Be thankful you are healthy, educated, involved in something even if's volunteer work.
well you can't help not having a job, I don't have one either and I'm not feeling great about it, I love working. what I can't understand are those who doesn't want to work at all :/
I worked part-time retail for 2 years before getting a desk job. Get some hobbies and consider taking some classes, even if it's just to keep your sanity.
Thank you. Did you do ordinary shop work?
I have lots of hobbies, but they don't involve going out. I'll have a look tomorrow, for local clubs.

I am in the same boat as you. What I did to keep my sanity was research what politicians have our best interests and will put us back to work. I have come to the conclusion that it's Mitt Romney. We still have 23 million unemployed now and we can't continue on like this.
That's interesting. Is it improving in US?
I'm from UK and I heard that the employment rate is improving. I hope it continues to. I don't like any of the main parties (they all lie) but it would be good if labour get in. They might push people to work more.
I thought that people refuse to work because they find it more fun to stay at home, but now I feel sympathy for them. It's a horrible.
Nope. It isn't improving and the only job creations have been campaign jobs and temporary government jobs. We need an Administration change to create jobs, as the current policies have failed these past 4 years and will continue to be the same if there is a re-election. People refuse to work and our government allows it and has even not required people on Welfare to work. So all incentive to get employment is now gone.
That sounds the same as what's going on here lol. It's too easy to receive money from the government. It's annoying though because it puts a strain on the NHS.
I'm sure it will get better though. Politicians are greedy and will want to get more tax coming in lol
Yeah totally. The EU isn't working and if Germany leaves you're all done. My President loves the EU model, loves Socialism and Marxism and everything that doesn't work in a Capitalist country. All our President does is spend money and has nothing to show for it. He spent over $5 trillion in 4 years and we still have an 8% unemployment rate (real is around 12-14%). All these people want to re-vote Obama because they get free things but have no idea how they're paid for!
In the UK, most people want the EU to end. There is a party that was created especially for leaving the EU lol.
I think the idea of Socialism is good- everyone helps each other, but with selfishness, it doesn't work. It gets abused. However, Capitalism makes people selfish as well lol.
That's bad what you said about Obama. Do you think another party would be any different though?
Yeah another party would be different. Would restore the values and principles of what we were founded upon. The idea of Socialism is okay in some respects, but in America it will be abused. I don't want government holding my hand. Obama's got to go, just like UK needs to leave the EU.
When are the new elections for US?
Well, I heard that there might be a referendum one day to leave it, but nothing has been said since. People here are hoping that it colapses so that we can get out of it lol.
Does the US look favourably or infavourably on the EU?
Next month. Liberals love the EU, Conservatives don't.
Why don't you try and find a job? contribute to the society. You are prime age and able-body for the work-force.
I started working for a couple of charities because I wanted to contribute to society, but after a while, the nice feeling wears off, and it becomes like an ordinary job. I will start doing more hours in the charity shop one though. Meeting people might help.
I am looking for jobs, but they all seem to have long applicatin windows.
Thank you for your reply.
Aww thank you haha!
I think that to be lazy enough to spend your life at home, there has to be some sort of psychological disorder. It's natural to need purpose, acheivments and interaction, but some people don't want it.
That's because they know they can get free-lunch handouts and we are now in the midst of 2nd and 3rd generation life long wlefare families. This class is called Proletarian, or "Proles". Basically propert of the state. It's an ugly thing. Humans can be so much more than just fat slobs. I live in the U.S. so I see it bad.
When we get rid of the Unaffordable Healthcare Hijack...then you will get a job...
Unaffordable healthcare hijack?
They troll boards like this one for hours on end.
Lol. Trolling would be a fun way to remove stress
