There's this guy who I've liked for what seems like forever. Over the summer I moved away and spoke to him maybe 2 or 3 times over instant messenger. Through some turn of events, I moved back home after being gone for 4 long months. He smothered me with a welcome home hug, and stated that it was good seeing me again. Before I was away, he never hugged me first. I've been home a few months now, and that's how it's been. When we see each other I get a big hug and a lovely smile. Lately he's been making an effort to listen to me, and open up to me. He tells me little things about himself when I'm upset to comfort me. I can tell it's really hard for him because he gets really quiet, and stands closer like he's afraid someone else will hear, and he looks down uncomfortably, but he's trying, and that means a lot to me. What confuses me is that on days we don't see each other, if I don't contact him first, we don't talk at all, and he keeps the conversations short. He says what he needs to say, and often if I text him or message him after that he won't answer, but I know he gets it, because it might come up later in conversation. I almost feel like I'm bothering him, but the next time I see him I'm greeted with a warm smile and bright eyes. He makes me feel so loved, then ignores me. Could he be just as confused as I am?
I should note that he's a really athletic, outdoorsy, adventurous guy. Also really sweet and caring, but manhood is very important to him.
