I really don't believe in cutting things out.
You have to look at this into the long term. Will you be able to keep away from carbs forever and spend 2 horus at the gym every day for the rest of your life? If yes, then this is a good approach. If no, then don't look for some kind of fix. It has to be sustainable, or you will gain all of your weight back after you're done with the "diet".

Not realistic.
You don't want to "diet." That term basically means that you will be on it for a little bit and then going off of it.
CHange your lifestyle- eat healthier in general with smaller portions and give yourself a routine that you can realistically stick to for a long time.
I have been on that diet for a year now, it's called the paleo diet and its the only real diet. Grains are bad for you, and any food that is genetically modified is bad for you. Just eat all real food that comes naturally from this planet and you can't go wrong. Also carbs makes you exhausted, I eat my fats and proteins during the day and the carbs at night to help me fall asleep.
carbs comes second to eating veges so I wouldn't cut out carbs, its all about portion size and as long as you don't over eat you'll be fine. I personally eat mostly a carb diet, bread, potatoes, cereal. I've lost over 50 pds so far. I've cut out eating fast food, and eating sweets, pop etc. made a world of difference.

Only approach that works well for me.
First couple days you may feel tired as body shifts to ketosis.
Fruit is a carb by the way. So are starchy vegetables (potato carrot corn peas legumes)
I'd suggest a couple cheat meals a week.I've lost about 7 pounds going NO carbs and it definitely works. at first I was losing a pound a week but plateaued after losing 5 pounds. I added cardio and lost more weight. if you're going to eat carbs make it early in the day rather than later.
It works great. I lost 17 pounds in one month with no exercise.
