Cheat day vs. carb/sugar cravings?

Hey guys!

As far as I know about cravings, they are worst in the first days of your diet. I HATE cravings for sweets, though I still have the willpower not to eat it. But my question was, what if I plan one cheat-day in my diet? would I have a huge crave the following day?

And my second question is, is it better to have an interval low carb diet (such as eating the first and third day high-carb food) or diet the whole week long, my goal is to drop about 1-2 pounds a week.

I exercise quite enough. I bike half an hour a day (14 mph), do 2 times a week pilates, hit the gym once a week and jog with my dog an hour every Sunday.

Any help would be really appreciated! :)
