Why would a guy pretend to be interested in a girl?

I have been staring at this hot guy in the libary for months now- but he never made any eye contact with me yet he did notice that I have been looking at him.

now last week he held eye contact with me for a few seconds and kind of walks by me so I can notice him while smiling to himself :/

why only do this now? is he just doing this cause he knows I like him?

if he can do that, he can come over and talk to you. he likes the effect his appearance has on you. once you would meet him properly, you would realize he isn't as great as you thought. he wasn't pretending, he really isn't interested in you. I had a guy who actually was interested, at least say hi whenever he saw me. He was shy and still is sometimes. He made eye contact all the time and couldn't help looking at me...so yeh...this definitely isn't interest...

You're over thinking. Hot guys know, just like hot girls, that everyone's eyes are on them. Besides, guys have absolutely no reason to fake interest, unless they're married and their wives have gotten so fat it hurts.

If you're not overweight, have a cute face, and behave/dress like a girl, then pretty much all the guys will like you. Thing is, because hot guys have (better) options, if you are just kinda average looking, you might only make a fine plan B.

Sorry by saying He wasn't pretending to be interested. I meant he's not interested. It's just like when a women has on some sexy outfit and guys are checking her out. It makes her feel good.
