Does anyone have any advice?
How do I stay motivated for an exercise routine?
Does anyone have any advice?
Having a goal definitely helps. Personally I'm training for my first half-marathon. I am almost sure I could finish the race without a really strict training program, just by keeping in shape for the months prior to the race, but that wouldn't satisfy me as I'm hoping to have the best time I can get as a first-timer. Most half-marathon plans are 16 weeks long (marathons ones being 18 weeks long). My race is in almost 6 months (24 weeks), so that leaves me plenty of time to get to a satisfying level of fitness.
I've started working out seriously about 5 weeks ago, and since then, I haven't stopped thinking about training for a day. I don't plan my rest days, they just happen on days when I'm too busy with school or too sore to work out. So everyday, I think about how long (as in what distance) I'm gonna run and when during the day I'm gonna train. I think about it every time I eat, and throughout the whole day. And after I've worked out, I fill my results into this excel "workout" spreadsheet I've made myself. It calculates my pace, etc, so I can see my improvements. I read in a marathon book that it's somewhat a form of masturbation, since you're the only one who cares about that diary, and it only makes you feel good. It definitely acts as motivation to me. And seeing the improvements definitely helps too. How could I quit training when I spend everyday looking forward to getting another workout done, and improving my fitness? I don't want to ruin my efforts of the past weeks out of laziness. And most of all, I rarely allow myself to rest on the occasional "binging" day (today, binging was a chicken thigh with barbecue sauce, fries, bread, a cabbage salad and some Easter chocolate). So it often happens that I workout especially on those days, in order not to feel fat and guilty about myself.
And lastly, I think motivation is often destroyed by lack of results in pounds loss. My weight is at a pretty stable 125-130 pounds since 2 years, even on those months I workout almost everyday. So I know not to expect weightloss. If I did, I would obviously be disappointed. But the point of working out is to be fitter and to look slimmer and more toned, not to see some major changes on the scale. Personally, I almost never look at the scale. I just look once in a while to make sure I haven't gained weight. I rarely do. If you can measure an improvement in performance over time, you'll be more likely to stay motivated, even though you might not lose weight as you wish. Good luck, hopefully that helped!
Have a certain goal set up. That way you'll be able to see actual results in your progress, thus it'll be a motivation for you to continue. Also, it sounds like your routine is boring. Mix it up every week, do different things to keep yourself focused and happy. Go swimming one week, running the next, then yoga etc etc. There are tons of things to do, rotate your routines! You could also get a friend involved (as someone mentioned earlier), but choose wisely. Make sure it's someone who's just as eager (or better: even more eager) as/than you, so that you'll be able to keep the lazy side of you in check. If you choose a less than eager friend, chances are both of you will be sitting on a sofa within a week eating chips and junk food, lol.
I suggest you listen to music while working out, too (if you aren't already). And whenever you feel like quitting, just think about how much you'll regret it. Once you get used to your routines, it'll be a lot easier to keep working out!
1. Get a personal trainer. The trainer will tailor workouts, keep them interesting, and you'll have a partner to share input with.
2. If you don't have the money for that, find your own workout partner, or partners...just someone to encourage you not to get lazy! Maybe someone to go out and chat with before or after your session.
3) Do a variety of things, not the same workout every day. Have an off day, but don't just be lazy!
Do some sports on break days, so that you're not just pounding weights or staring at the same machines every time you go to the gym. That can quickly take all the fun out of the trip, and soon you will find reasons not to show up..Believe me, I've been through that myself.
There are so many videos available on YouTube :)

I get my motivation from Rock/heavy metal songs especially work out songs and by watching various motivating movies like Undisputed 2-3 ,never back down ,etc ^_^
hope that helps :)

1. Find a friend to work out with you or at least make you stay on track.
2. Take a pic of yourself a bad pic possibly enhancing everything you don't like in your body and look at it.
3. Look at pics of fitness models.
4. Think of how the guys are gonna be crazy about you when you develop your body.
5. Think of how good you're gonna feel, sticking to it for a even just a couple of months gives tremendous results you start feeling ten times better and you're like, how did I live before :D
6. Remember to pick routines, exercises and everything to do with it, in a way that you like, in a time that's comfortable for you, to an intensity you can take and so on you get the idea. Make it pleasurable and you won't need motivation :)
i had struggled with getting motivated too but I realized I just wasn't wanting enough. When I really started to want it, I made a schedule for myself to follow. Put it on my bedroom door for me to see every day. Once you want it enough, you will find a way
Just force yourself to do it. Get into the routine properly, once you do then a day Not going to the gym feels like an incomplete day... lol
Once you have time off from the gym or miss a few days in a row its hard to get back into it... you need to keep at it.
And yea listen to music, I find Metal / Rock / Rap music really helps me.
Find workout partners(s). I started working out with a partner for the first time back in August and it makes working out that much more enjoyable. Now I have multiple workout partners who I work out with 2-3 times a week and then I workout alone the rest of the week.
I'm 27 right now. I am in my peak physical prime. I will never be like this again. Once it's gone, it will be gone forever. I think about getting older all the time. It's envitable. But when I'm an old man, I will be able to tell myself that I reached my absolute top peak. It's what drives every damn day and I love it.
All I can say is find something you really enjoy doing, I love going to the gym because I really enjoy what I do and because of that I go religiously .
i have a picture of my fave celebrity in bikini as my inspiration and every time I exercise I always think and tell myself that I'll achieve a body like her ^-^
I started by getting a friend who would be happy to commit to working out with me, so we have been on schedule and now just thinking about stopping sounds ridiculous, we've made a lot of progress!
Commit to it for a while and you'll feel like if you don't do that something is very wrong. After a while you'll be afraid to take a day off.
Sounds like your routine probably bores you. Find something more challenging or fun to do
When you think about quitting, think about why you started.
my motivation has been women, so I guess you could imagine a lot of sexy men wanting you? lol
hahaha I love that idea d: ill try it out lol
Put in your list of daily goals.. think of it as a stress reliever
you're gonna be hot if you do it
