thats sweet your a true ex that still cares sure he might frown upon your words of saying thanks for a history with him but what really do you have to loose you guys avoid each other as is and who knows maby a friendship l;ike no other may develop now if this is closure or trying to get back together you may just be looking at a broken hart maby give it a few years or tell him some other time that he was important to you either way expect top have a out come of tears for both or if your lucky a wholesome hug like none other GOOD LUCK THIS WORLD NEEDSA MORE GREAT GIRLS LIKE YOU THE ONES THAT NEVER STOP CARING

I personally would just leave it alone but if you feel that you need some closure I don't see a problem with that either. He'll either be willing to listen or he won't want to hear a word but I wouldn't take any of that personally. He might still be hurt from the breakup or maybe he's moved on.
You could ask to hang out, you could just talk about it the next time you see him, you could write it out in a letter, or you could text him if you still have his number.

why? what do you gain by doing this to yourself, and to him?
