Do you do all the housework around the house?

I live with my boyfriend and his mom. So since I don't work, I have to do all the chores without getting paid. My boyfriend helps out sometimes because he doesn't work either, he just pays the rent of $500 a month. We both get unemployment benefits. He gets $400 a week and I get $36 a week. Plus money whenever I pet sit.

His mom works too. She's never been laid off in her life. I've been laid off 3 times and my boyfriend the same because either the jobs close down, or there is no more work left to do.

It doesn't bother me with the housework because I get some exercise too from it. But sometimes I wish I got paid to do it, his mom used to pay me $20 for an hour of work. But I guess she just wants to save money. I probably wouldn't mind if it was $5 an hour. Just something. But I guess I shouldn't bug her about it.

I just vacuumed the whole house and have to do it again because I didn't do it right. Ugh so stressed out right now.

You're living their rent free. Either start charging by the hour and paying your way, or do the chores.

I was raised that way. Even if I still lived at my parents, they wouldn't let me pay rent. Even when I had a job. So I guess this is a good thing so I can finally learn to grow up.

Sooooo...you get paid for doing nothing (unemployment benefits), and you're complaining because you're not getting paid to clean the house for which you pay no rent? Hmmm...

Sounds to me like you have a pretty sweet deal...
