Should I take offense or was he kidding?

Christyyy
Me and my boyfriend have been dating for 2 months now. He’s sweet and a gentleman. I’m his first girlfriend. I’m not anorexic but in the past and still kind of now, I’ve been trying to gain weight and hated being skinny. I get really sensitive when people tell me I'm skinny or want my body because I'm skinny or just make jokes. It really pisses me off even if it is a compliment. I never really get lunch at school because of my anxiety and being in crowds/long lines so I just skip it. My boyfriend doesn’t know that I am sensitive about my weight or my insecurities. Every time I tell him that I am not going to eat lunch, he says “Nope nope you’re going to eat.” He even gets me food from his classroom and sometimes from home. I mainly don’t eat lunch everyday maybe like 3 times a week, depends.

Usually when I'm at his house, he asks me if I'm hungry and want anything to drink or eat, I say no (because I'm really not thirsty or hungry) and he says “R you sure?”. Today in math class, I said that I’m going to finally eat lunch today and he said “Yay! Skinny Stick is finally going to eat!” and we laugh but I called him a jerk and punched his arm. He likes to mess with people a lot and joke around. It got to me later and he asked me if I was alright. I told him to not joke about my weight again because in the past, I was sensitive about it. He apologized a lot and we hugged. I’m still a bit hurt. I told my friend about this since she is skinny too and wants to gain weight as well, she said that I shouldn’t take offence to it.
Should I take offense or was he kidding?
