Bruising is caused by ruptured blood vessels which bleed into the skin causing it to turn colors. First purple because it's fresh blood and once it coagulates (clots), over the course of a few days, it turns black then yellowish. It's common from over straining. But my question is, is it too much for u? How do you feel after the workouts (super sore and can't move or just a little and able to function)? Are the bruises in exact areas that your working out or physical strain or are they all over? What does your routine consist of (running, weights, Pilates, yoga[if yoga or Pilates is it hot classes])? Are you having any other symptoms while working out or afterward (lightheadedness, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, vision problems ect)?
If your over doing it try to lessen strain by making weights lighter, don't push to run/jog hard, take it easy. If it's pilates/yoga don't take hot classes anymore, if your not doing hot classes just take the regular ones easy.
If you find that your still bruising after settling down go see a doctor. You may have weak vessel walls which is rare but could be potentially dangerous. Don't be alarmed because like I said its rare.
I am not a doctor, but I am a certified medical assistant/NYS EMT-CC with over 8 years in the medical field.

From what I have read, bruising is caused when exercise weakens your muscles and blood vessels, which can eventually lead to bruising.Perhaps, you're also "overdoing this", which may also contribute to why the bruising. Have you been weigh lifting? Hitting areas of your body when working out, perhaps? Whenever I found myself with "unnecessary black and blues," I was advised to take more Vitamin A. Although I do take Vitamins daily(I have since the age of 6), eating more sources of foods containing this are: Carrots, sweet potatoes, dark leafy greens, butternut squash, lettuce, dried apricots, cantaloupe, liver, and spices such as Paprika, Red Pepper,Cayenne, and Chili Powder. Try this and perhaps alleviate some of the "work force."
However, if it continues, and even after you would give yourself a "break for your bod", consult a doctor, sweetie..xx
If you're doing weights that are too heavy, or doing floor work without a mat or pad...this can happen to some people, especially if you are just starting to work out and haven't done these types of exercise before.
This isn't healthy and if it continues in spite of any modifications to your workout routine, check with an md to see if you have some kind of vitamin deficiency, or some medical condition you weren't aware of before.
Only trouble I had had was the barbel at my gym giving me red marks when I would use it for squats. Sometimes I can't find the pad to throw on it.
Depends on where the bruises are and if the workouts associated with those muscles are involved. Switch to lighter weight anyway if you've been doing heavy weight workouts just so you can recover your central nervous system.

Sometimes when I am doing a workout and smack my hand/leg/arm/foot etc on something. Or while on my back sometimes I get some when being on the floor too long. Just from accidental hits, nicks, or being in a spot for too long uncomfortably. That was just at the beginning, I just needed more space and not be careless when working out.
If you are getting them for no reason, it may be something you are not doing correctly, stretching, malnourished or something worse.Sure I work out in my garage with the giant doors open so ripped clothes, dirt iv even split my head open out there just bandaged it up and right back to pumping iron.
This has happened to me quite a few times while running.. it happens when you really go overboard and put too much strain on.yourself.. my legs have been all black and blue on the backs for a few days after being overzealous. Take some time off!
Check your blood count. It could be your over doing it.
