Will a belly button piercing ever heal?

So I got my bellybutton pierced a little less than 5 months ago and I decided I didn't like the way it felt when I'm working out because it rubs and pokes me all the time. So I took it out a week ago. The piercing has already closed up and I can see significant healing since I took it out, but I was wondering if it will ever fully heal, or will I always have a scare where I had it pierced?

I've had my belly button pierced for over three years. First, it takes 6-9 months to heal fully when left in, i do have a significant mark of where it is when i take mine out. As to your question, will it heal? Yes of course, any wounds to your body will heal in time. Scarring? More likely than not, yes you will have a mark there.

I got one at 16 years old. Removed it after 3 months because I got pregnant. It never fully healed. It's closed, but the dent is still there, 12 years later... along with the stretch marks

Yes, but it takes at least 9 months to heal. If you get a piercing, don't expect it to heal instantly. Be patient, or don't get it at all. Your piercer should have informed you of this.
