So this is kind of cool and special for us folk near the Chicago land area because, well we get a bit colder out here during the winter and have a bit of snow. So to have a holiday in the park is kind of special.
This kind of gives a break down of all that they have. I am kind of bummed because I went with those that only wanted a ride (s) so I was not able to enjoy as much of what the holiday version of the park had to offer. But I did catch some of the sites while walking.
Seeing the first main place in the park and hometown square at that, have a huge Christmas tree was pretty cool. I thought for a brief second that the smores might be free but they were 5 dollars each. Which is not a bad price per say but not something I would do every time in the park. but everything that was normally not lit up had a special boarder of lights.
Over all there was a lot to see.
Towards the entrance they even had some interesting set ups under the bridge and on the signage
At one point, there was even a huge light up display board, I got frustrated because it had holiday in the park on it but quickly disappeared to these backgrounds...
That last one was kinda blurry but interesting looking....
Finally, as the last major highlight, I saw an interesting tree lit up next to the one of the major rides. It was pretty cool to see.
As a finale to the evening I went to go see the new star wars at the Gurnee Marcus theater nearby.
Unlike, many critics reviewed, I thought there was a followable story and not just a bunch of loose ends trying to be tied up. You clearly had a goal at the beginning of the movie and a movement towards finishing that goal. It was a story and I thought it was a pretty decent and fun one.

I thought as a final note that the Mexican kitchen and the bar in the background was kind of fun for a movie theater :)
