Why would a military wife cheat on her deployed husband?

How low down and disgusting can someone be? I want to throw up when I hear of women doing this. Being lonely isn’t a excuse.

Not all military wives do this. Many are just wonderful people. Service members deserve the absolute best wives as well as husband for the ladies who serve this country.

I grew up on a military base, it happens a lot more than people think.
Why? The guy is deployed for a year. That's a year of being home alone with the kids and then there's all these single hot young military men on base that know her husband is away and are there preying on her. People cheat because they think they will never be found out.
My sister served in Iraq and Afghanistan. She said the men and women deployed there cheated all the time.
Think about this during ww2 in Britain many British soldiers that went to war in 1939 returned home in 1945 to find they had two or three year old children. Basically while they were away millions of American military personnel were stationed in Britain and they were younger than the British men there, were taller because of a better diet, had more money, brought luxury goods British couldn't get and had much better uniforms. Overpaid, oversexed and over here is what British men said of them as they took all the British women out competing British men.

Military is just full of cheaters and that's never gonna change. I think a lot of it has to do with that lifestyle attracts trashy people. I've known guys that marry strippers just so they have more money like some of these guys shouldn't be surprised that their stripper wives are gonna cheat on them

I spent some time in a Navy town. It is crazy how many women show up in bars when ships go out. The good thing about it their tan lines from wedding rings still show for about two weeks. It is hard for single guys too. Women will do what they want to do and have needs aw well. It is what it is.

Yep and the whole thing is F-ed Up. I know lots of navy guys who get the wives pregnant before leaving for their 6 months or year out on ship. That's a way to do it too but demonstrates exactly what you saying and how tough the military life is. My Dad was AF and I was born in Military base...

Here's the thing though, I'm not sure there's some scale of righteousness when it comes to cheating. Like the husband or wife who cheats on their military spouse is somehow a worse cheater than the husband or wife who cheats on their [fill in the blank career/job field] spouse. Like because the guy or gal is in uniform the cheating is worse than if they wore a suit and took the subway to work.

Cheating sucks. And is wrong. Can we leave it at that?

But, in answer to your question -- and this is NOT excusing or justifying cheating but you asked why -- life in the military for the spouses is orders of magnitudes harder than out in the civilian world. The financial stressors are usually greater, the family stressors are greater, and layer on to that the spouse is gone. Again NOT excusing or justifying but you asked why -- and one of those reasons is the unique collection of things that make up life as a military spouse.
