Ironic, but have come across too many guys who's sole intention seems to be flirting for the sake of it and/or time pass 🤬

You will never know for sure whether anyone on those platforms is really serious about getting married or if a person is solely looking for dates and/or intimate relationships only.

There are also scammers that will go to great lengths to get married only to get a residents' permit, a green card or a work permit.

Use your common sense and intuition to determine whether that candidate is genuine or if anything in his profile tells you that you should be cautious.

Marriage apps are about as trustworthy as dating apps, that means that they don't really screen the people and that the risk rests entirely on your shoulders.

A guy that's serious about getting married makes it clear in chats that he knows what he wants. I'd therefore assume that he shows interest in you and he wants to get things going and takes the initiative to figure out if it would work between the two of you. He's not the guy that goes with the flow and just waits if things come to a good point or not.
