Why are people so against young marriage when that used to be the norm? (Page 2)

I think a good age for marriage for a woman is around 25 or higher

Why higher? Why would you want to raise children in your 30s opposed to your late twenties so you have more freedom when you’re wiser in your 40s. Women’s fertility start declining after 25 anyways biology even disagrees with it

Well, some people are not ready to do that. Some people wanna enjoy their life first to travel finish college do some things before they start having kids in their early 20s.

Yes but as I said in my post that not what I want. You can travel anytime. You can finish college before having kids and still be married. You can finish college with kids even. Although some people aren’t ready my question is why is it so taboo and hated on when people get married young now. It’s never seen as a personal choice it’s always seen as a young dumb mistake.

“Being against”…I don’t see protests burning married girls at the stake. You may see lots more negative writings on it because it used to be like that when women didn’t have any rights.

People didn't live as long, society wasn't as advanced, there was literally nothing to do except have sex and have babies when you're 16.

I’m talking about the baby boomer generation, most of which are still alive now. I’m not talking about ancient times. Even in the 70s and 80s people got married in their early 20s

20 year olds are not fully adults though.
21 is the age when you're legally able to be a complete adult. 25 isn't even a really young age to get married though. 🤷🏻‍♀️ I don't think most people are mentally or financially ready to get married or have kids at such a young age. Marriage isn't a game. It's a lifetime commitment. It's going to require maturity, patience, understanding, etc. I don't think young people are mature.
