She only wants the legally binding contract that incentivizes her to divorce and take everything he owns. She doesn’t care about him at all. He’s just a means to an end.
Smart, self respecting men aren’t marrying anymore. The ones who are marrying are damaged or defective in various ways.
There are many reasons why a woman might want to keep her maiden name. It has no effect on her desire for marriage.
I had a cousin, named Sandy, who was engaged to a guy whose last name was Claus. She didn't want to be called Sandy Claus so she kept her maiden name, Sandy Anderson.
Sometimes it can preference, cultural, and its not uncommon for both people to keep last name. Its also not uncommon in some places for the man to take their wife's last name. The real question you have to ask yourself if this is important to you, Why does it matter?
I’m married i kept my maiden name for 6 years. Only because I’m a daddy’s girl and it’s like having a part of him with me. I changed it when my kid started school because of confusion with different last names.

For me, this is basically rejection. I personally wouldn't be with a woman if she wasn't willing to take my last name when we get married.
Depends on the circumstances and her reason.
If a woman won't take a man's last name it means that she wants to be a bride but not a wife. She wants the Instagramable wedding but once that is over she won't do any wife duties and will just run out the clock until she can divorce and get alimony.
Well in certain countries it doesn't happen, Italy is one of them. But that being said, I do remember a statistic a while back saying that when the woman didn't take the last name, the odds of divorce were higher. Unfortunately, I can't find it now!
There are a lot of reasons why someone would not want to get Married. It's a huge sacrifice and there is only two reasons to make that sacrifice. One is to have children and the other is to take care of someone less fortunate. Any other reason isn't marriage at all. It's prostitution for Money.
Once in my life I used to think as the question infers , I don't believe that now , personally if I were getting married I really couldn't care if they took my name or not.
I don't think it means anything.
100% normal. Any professional woman has reputation attached to her name. Some like to make clear they are a member in a partnership, not an amorphous partnership melange. Some feel attachment to their families history and legacy. Some guys just have bad surnames... yes I'm looking at you, Mssrs. Ramsbottom. Reasons abound.
What is right for some women will not be for others.
I think more often than not, it means that she's been indoctrinated by the whole "no one owns me" feminist garbage.
a lot of women don't change their last names after marriage. I don't plan on it either and I want the marriage. I don't care for a wedding.
No, not necessarily. Some women prefer to keep her last name. If you’re feeling unsure or insecure about it, I do encourage you to have an open conversation what does this mean to the both of you.
@Hargar88 my father and mother separated before I was born. Long story. But all my siblings and I , have her surname. That was my grandfather's surname.
@butterly248 so if 1 of your father's sins or relatives out there encounter you then you might end up hooking up with your brother, cousin or nephew.
I don't hookup anymore lol
@butterly248 and your children?
Don't have any.
Wants all the incentives but not the traditional marriage, probably a feminist unless she is in a career where she needs to keep her last name or the only one to carry the father’s name
I don't know as a woman if I got married I'd keep mine and add his to the end of it.
I don't want to assume what a random hypothetical person who happens to be a woman, wants. It would be better to ask her instead of us.
She can call herself Billy Bob (perhaps not Billy Bob, but...) so long as she agrees to marriage.
i never understood the whole taking someone's last name. sounds like a good way to hide who you are? then they made it legal to change your entire name...
well you wouldn't take your wife's last name either. so what does that mean?
What fucks me up is when the dude takes her last name!
Not necessarily. Maybe She wants both possibly.
Well , I kind of like taking her last name instead. It confuses people trying to find me.
It means she wants a cuckold husband
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
They can do whatever they want
Not in my opinion or experience!
Deal-breaker
