I bought a used car 2014 mustang at dealer had some scratches on it but that was the lowest mileage I could find. I took it to an auto shop and they showed me rust underneath the car and wheels where the brakes are which is causing it to squeal when it is used. The worker at shop (not dealer) told me its not too much rust so nothing to worry about. Later on I found rust under both seats. Which got me so worried because I dont want to spend more money to fix it up. I can still return it and get full refund. My boyfriend was telling me to look for another mustang. So first search I did I found same year and even less mileage for less price. I said "oh I found one!" Then he got my phone and messaged him and we seen the car looks great condition. Now he's saying he wants to buy it for himself. Like wtf? Isn't that selfish? I need to replace my car and now all of a sudden he wants to buy the car that I found and wanted to buy. I feel irritated because im stressing out not sure what to fuckin do. Should I return the rust car or keep rust car if he buys that mustang for himself? My car came from rhode Island not sure if its moisture or flood. Carfax said no damage reported. I'm worried mine is a salvage carRust under seatsRust under passenger/driver seat

He keeps asking if I would get mad if he buys it for himself. I just say "no do what you want." Because im not selfish like him. But deep inside im mad at him.. really disappointed too shows how much he cares

This morning I asked both my siblings to borrow 5k and they lend it to me. I told my boyfriend I have the money and can buy it and it was ridiculous he made a huge big deal and argument of how much he wants it and if I buy it im kicked out. I told him fine go have the car im not the type of person who is going to ruin a relationship like him. I feel like shit cuz he bought the car and now he's shoving it in my face. I think its pretty fucked up.
Doesn't this make him selfish? What should I do about my car keep or return?
Salvaged cars are actually better than you think cause usually rebuilds have newer parts cause it was rebuild, the rust under the seats means nothing, maybe some doof dropped their drinks at one point, your boyfriend is being somewhat selfish but with all honesty the car being sold at such a low mileage makes me wonder what's up with the car, your was at a dealer but is this other one a dealer as well or a private seller?
If the rust bothers you so much, replace them, preferably some racing seats cause they are usually around the same price as the stock ones, that depends tho of course
The one I got is 29k mileage and the other one is 4k miles private seller (old guy) who kept in garage and never used it only occasionally. My car came from east coast RI several years then couple years MA state. So I wonder if it was snow or sea salt that caused rust
Well a car was meant to be used constantly, who knows what damage he did by letting that car sit, I get scared for letting my car sit for a week, tbh that mileage is scary, what year is the other car
Yeah thats what im thinking too. I'm just feeling like shit of how he reached this morning when I said I had the money. He talked shit about me saying im not a bright person and said he gets frustrated at me. Now that he bought it he's trying to be funny or nice but I just feel shitty and hurt right now
I feel bad for you cause I know you were the one that found it but he rushed into the purchase, I feel like that car has something that the owner wants to get rid of it, thing is that they way he flaked you like that, that can't be undone.
Yeah, I just found it really mean because im really stressing. Not to mention my family is going to look at my car and point out all the scratches on the car when his has none. Thats true :') the scratches are on hood and one on rear side of car. I took to a detail shop they said one of the scratches they can't fix its too deep. I wonder of I can do a whole paint job and have them buffer it or something. I mainly feel sad because I felt like he made it a competition and his words really hurt me. Its sad because I should be happy I have my car I always wanted but he cast a dark cloud over me 😔
You still have your car and the good thing is that it works you can get from point A to point B, if anything at some point you can work a bit more to sell your car and get a better one or you can use the money to buy a new hood rear fender or buy a new panel for the one that has the deep scratches and patch the other ones
That makes me feel better! Especially yesterday I showed my family my car. I expected them to be negative but it was the opposite they loved my car! Even my mom was happy for me. My brother told me the rust is little bit and not a problem to worry that its by moisture. They told me I picked a cool car :)
He told me today he might quit his job and is thinking selling that mustang to me... I'm like wow is he being serious right now? All that stupid drama he caused and now he doesn't want it. I'm happy with mine so he can deal with selling it not my problem
he's keep talking shit about my mustang saying I need to spend more money to fix it up. He keeps trying to pressure me or manipulate me saying I need to return the mustang. I asked "so if I return mine are you selling me yours?" He said "no I might keep mine". I said "oh thats nice so I will be car less" then he says "im doing you a favor! I'm gonna let you use my dads kia sol until you find another car!".
I'm starting to feel like he's just being a hater at this point because he's the ONLY one being super negative. Everyone else LOVES my car including me I love it. I feel like he just wants a mustang and not me because he knows I'm gonna get attention by other men who are into mustangs

I think he is jealous that you are driving this car that's supposedly a "man's car" so I guess it bugs him which can explain why he rushed to get one too, now he wants you to sell yours and get some wack shit, the only thing that sucks about mustang is that the insurance is up the roof cause people that drive them crash them too much lol
Yeah I totally agree with you. I'm paying almost 700 on insurance for 6 months. I think its that too. I was trying to hold my laugh when he told me I woke him up at 7am starting my car 😂
Funny thing is that he used to wake me up every morning when he turned on his harley davidson.. I never had a problem with it. Also I been starting my car for 1 week and all of a sudden he says that yesterday that I woke him up. Almost like he's trying to make me feel guilty. I should rev my engine several times haha
Lol yeah 😂... he's really trying to make me feel like shit because he's talking more shit about my car and keeps putting pressure on me. Its draining my energy especially because at 2am past week he keeps turning his mustang on randomly and turns it off then goes back to sleep. I know he's doing it on purpose
He keeps talking shit about my car to other people now. He points out all the small things it has like tear on seat and tiny dents. He keeps trying to put extreme pressure on me to return it. So far all the people who see my car stop and look and compliment it. I really love my car and don't want to give it up for his stupid ass because that will be my biggest regret. Luckily for you, you always have the option of breaking up with him, it's a perk you don't have qith your mother cause she was your mother, definitely confront him about his behavior before doing so, give him the chance to fix his fuck up, after that there's no excuse, if he is blinded by his jealousy then he will have no excuse after you tell him.
