Do you ever buy things and then not use them?

I do this occasionally and it's pretty bad:

1. After having a great meal at a friend's house two years ago that she made in a slow cooker, I asked where she had bought the cooker, and ordered one. I then realized that I really cannot cook, and the expensive slow cooker is sitting in one of my cabinets, never even used once or unpacked. I hate seeing it when I open that cabinet. I need to throw it away or donate it or something. It is brand new and unused and it might work for someone else.

2. I ordered a bidet during the first stages of the pandemic when there was a toilet paper shortage. It is now sitting in my office in its original box, unopened and unused. It was supposed to be easily installed by almost anyone, but I am not a plumber. A real plumber wanted $ 400 to install it and I am not paying that much to anyone for this job. The bidet will either end up in the trash or be donated.

Have you done things like this or is it just me?

Don’t think so. I prob. have but don’t keep track. I don’t like shopping at all or buy anything not necessary.
my little sister and I joked around buying our nephew a bagel cutter since he cut himself trying to cut open a bagel half. we all talked ourselves out of how there is one thing to buy for every occasions… 99% are so unnecessary.
we just use one knife to cut everything… so we are kinda like a minimalist…

Usually at home Depot when I fixing or building something. I do it cuz I don't always know what will or will not work. There is nothing standard in my home. It seems like it was build using spare random items so its always a guesing game to fix something in my home or to build something to make it fit around my houses odd lay out.
Last thing I built was my rabbits cage and a table to squeeze into an odd size corner.

I forget what the deal was with the bidet but if you want to have another run at it I will try and help you.
To answer the question, I hardly ever do this. Lately I have been stockpiling food, especially stuff that has been hard to find lately but I never throw anything away.

I created a Facebook account a few months ago to sell a trailer. I sold it in a day and I have a couple of things that I want to get rid of and I am going to clean them up and try and sell them on Facebook ysrd sale. Even if I get a hundred bucks it is better than throwing it in the trash.

I was gonna say no then remembered the pasta maker I used once, I got it for Christmas probably a decade ago, one use of barely edible pasta and it's been boxed up ever since

I used to have a pasta maker I actually used a few times but then lost interest in it. When I moved it sort of disappeared.

My Nintendo switch I hardly ever use. They don't have the types of games I'm more into. I tend to like games with high level character customization, personal freedom and non-linear solo player stuff. I lovw the fallout and total war games mostly.
