Why both guys and girls consinder this as the ideal body shape for girls?

it's not the best imo, i believe apple-shape is better. hourglass makes the body look a little bit more unproportioned.

Meh. I don't think it's THAT overrated.

Though straighter, less curvy body types seem underrated to an extent. At least from what I know from guys and girls I know. Most girls I know think guys hate small boobs and want a small waist and big boobs. I whole-heartedly disagree, as men's tastes vary a lot. I love small boobs and butts, for instance. A lot of guys I know seem to disagree with my taste in body type.

Though let's be honest, here. Hip-Hop Popular culture is making curvy look pretty trashy. I mean, if I was a curvy girl, I would watch music videos and be like "Shit. This means I attract gangsters with bling and 'swag'". You know, with those "apple-boddum jeans an' bootz wit da furrr"

You wanna know what did curvy right? Freaking Kate Winslet in freaking Titanic. That is classy curves. I think we should make curves classy.

Overrated? In the sense that they call it the "ideal" or "healthiest" proportions. Women vary in shape, men vary in preference.

I dont think so, I think its nice but its blown out of proportion sometimes. I have a small chest but big hips, a small waist and a fat ass and pretty face so tits dont really matter. Its really how big your hips and tihghs are so you can carry a baby without looking like you'll collapse lol. in some ways i see why you'd think its overrated and i can agree i wouldn't mind having a bigger chest but im grateful for what god gave me.

im not saying it is important but i watched a documentary on this a few months ago where it says that men like hourglass and big hips because its a sign that she is healthier or has more fat in order to feed and support and baby. I didn't even know that im just giving insight on something i learned..

There is a litany of evidence that supports the idea that females with hourglass figures are the most fertile. Although, there is also a good amount of supporting evidence that states waist-hip ratio is really the most important indicator of fertility/good health among humans. For females, supposedly 0.7 is ideal.

Other than that, it's all personal preference/esthetics.

Because it biologically/psychologically represents fertility, and fertility is a basic human attraction. If you look at figurines, fertility figurines, from the oldest societies, they are all hour glass shaped. Its not overrated at all, its just right.

It's nothing special, IMO. I have that shape. I think the ideal shape to have is the pear shape. That would instantly get my attention. I don't really find any other shapes appealing, other than the pear shape.

I think the "pear shape" is going through a short-lived fad right now.

I think that generally, "apple" shaped is what younger men like, and pear shaped is what older men and often black men seem to like. Hourglass is a compromise between the two.
