I have to be careful not to be with women with modern values because its a waste of time there are not very good girls any more
What is defined as a good women? Is there a difference between a good man and a good woman?
I would say a good women is modest warm smart kind and has great character. A good man is a leader goes for what he wants takes responsibility and has good character
So a good man shouldn't be modest, warm, smart, and kind. A good woman shouldn't be a leader, go for what she wants, and take responsibility.
Men only need good character, but women need great character.
No I didn't mean guys just need good character I mean great and irs good for both men and women to have these traits but some traits are more important for certain genders im really warm kind and smart
I don't really know of any traits that are more suited for a certain gender.
They are definitely traits that are more important women look for certain traits in guy and vice versa but I see what you mean a good person is a good person but women and men aren't the same in every way
Long term romantic relationships? Sure!
Legal marriage? Nope nope nope. No paperwork or legal involvement.

I think they are good but maybe harder than what previous generations dealt with. Still worth it though, just find the right ones.

I know the word "feminist" carries some unpleasant baggage for some people, but I kinda don't get it. Before feminism, married women couldn't own property 'cause that was her husband's role. Before feminism, women were their husbands' (and before that their fathers') legal property and resonsibility like I own my cats. Before feminism, the "rule of thumb" meant my husband couldn't beat me with any stick thicker than his thumb. I don't want to go back to that. I consider myself a feminist because I think my life and my opinions are just as valuable as a man's. Not more, just not less.
Yeah thats cool and all but blame youyr gender for messing up the actuall meaning of feminsm into the warped garbage that it is today. Feminism WAS about equality but now is about men hating and being crazy and gung ho about "I have a vagina, I'm better" it gets old pretty quick
Actually feminism is just about equality. That's really it. Whatever else you associate with feminism is a mistake, and it's an effort by men to slander a really simple and good movement for basic equality of rights.
I did specify that it USED to mean equality and that a lot of women now a days use it just to talk shit about men and this is a FACT. Feminism is retarded anyway women are already equal it had its time and served its purpose
@oldlady women were never property, ever. Women chose to marry because it meant they would be provided for and there children would be provided for. The idea that women were oppressed because a man spent 16 hours a day in a field to feed a woman, built a house for a woman, and if necessary die in the defense of a woman just so he could have the privledge of reproducing and this is some how treating women like property is a little bit absurd. It was a mutually beneficial arrangment. Women who were married could not own property because by law a man had to take care of her financially, meaning any debt a woman aqcuired would automaticly become his to deal with (if he couldn't pay he would be imprisioned not her) women chose to be with men for these reasons they were not forced. Also the rule of thumb is a myth, some judge in the 1800s made a joke which was universally condemned and forgotten until recent times when it was drudged back up to prove that men where evil oppressors.
@oldlady: You're talking about first-wave feminism and not the current third-wave feminism. Most women that call themselves feminists that "don't get why guys don't like feminism" are actually agreeing with first-wave feminism. Nearly everyone in the U. S. (and most of the world) are first-wave feminists. What guys, like myself, don't like are third-wave feminists who represent the part of feminism that most first wave feminists call the "exception to the rule" which are the feminists who really just hate men and don't want gender equality.

Your experiences are just different from mine. Even my militant dyke friends don't hate men. I don't know ANYONE I could describe as just hating half the world's population. And the idea of blaming the other half of the world's population for whatever you see as wrong with feminism seems silly - there are 3.5 billion of us and we are not all the same. As I look around at the heterosexual couples I am friends with, they are with only one exception couples who are each other's best friends, who treat each other with respect and admiration, who have each other's back, and who have a more-or-less egalitarian relationship. If all you're meeting are hateful people, you're fishing in the wrong pond.

You have to jump through a million hoops for them. This is why most men in Asia have given up on women (esp Japan) and focus on other things, I'm hoping that's a trend that takes off.

Typically: educated, confident, opinionated, independent, assertive, and sexually liberated.
Basically, the opposite of a meek, virginal housewife that's easy to control and acts as a surrogate mother.

Nothing wrong with being a housewife, my mom is a housewife, and meek she is not. The tone of my comment is directed at the way men who complain about modern women view women, not at the women themselves.

I don't think people these days are made for commitment. It's all about short term pleasure. It's also why i think the divorce rate is so high: it's easier than working to fix things.

Agreed. My main issue would be with modern relationships. It's so short term and selfish. More of a business deal than a relationship.
If I had criticism specific to women, it would be the whole 'have it all' attitude. It just makes me think how could i possibly live up to that?
I want to have a life long relationship that I could really invest into. Relationships with people these days all seem to be built on sand.
