When growing up, living with your parents and all, did you have to call your dad sir in an authoritarian way?

It can be found among some hardcore religious families such as Protestants. It's more of an old-fashioned thing that isn't too common nowadays, but it still happens.

I call my dad by his first name 🙄 and my mom by her first name too... it all started as a joke but then it felt normal. i got tired of screaming mom!!! in the store when i was lost so her name was the best option 😂😂😂

No I always called him Dad. The word " sir" in the U. K is rarely used. Most people only refer to teachers as "Sir"
