I'd just calmly try to strike up a conversation with my appointed psychiatrist. "Hello, my name is *blank*. I'm thankful for your help, but could you tell me exactly why I have gotten in here? I don't think there's any precedent.". Failing that, I'm 6'7, I'd rather go to jail.

If I did get ptt in there they probably wouldn't let me out no matter what I said so what I would do is act very sane and polite until they realize I don't belong there.

Ironically having health insurance is your enemy in the US on this one. Either way, depends on a couple things. If I'm in for 72 hour observation, nothing, I say nothing at all, don't give my name, don't ask why I'm there, 72 hours is needed to see if a person needs further evaluation or treatment in the US, if the doctor has nothing, even if you get pushed to the next step you can sue for incompetence and go to criminal court as they have literally nothing for a recommendation. Count 3 sunrises and ask for release.

If it's past that, keep having seizures to stay off drugs. Medicine helps and can prevent them, but at any point in time you can induce enough stress, sleep deprivation, and find stimuli to have them. This will make them want to get rid of you as soon as possible as now you are a huge liability. Drug interactions, the therapy chosen, under observation they will be seizures. Still, I tell them nothing except how sick the drugs are making me. Epilepsy is a neurological disorder, not psychological, so you can't be committed for it, and being given the wrong drugs to worsen it is a big no no.

It depends on who you have to fight how you're going to fight them. They have the muscle and tranqs so physically being feared is almost non-existant, and will just keep you longer. Being a threat to their funding and a possible newspaper story though...

I'd  go along with it  because sometimes, you're safer in an asylum than outside, in the "real world". One of my favourite books is  "Die Physiker" bei Friedrich Dürrenmatt,  I love everything he wrote but this book is related to the question. Here's an extensive plot summary:  In essence, three physicists are in a sanitorium and  pretend to be crazy to survive WWII and not end up being killed by the Nazis. They kill nurses there and so on, but in the end they're sad men because they know that they couldn't survive outside of the sanitorium.

You cannot be thrown inthere. They need a judicial authorization to Throw you inthere and when they have they can give you any meds they want to. They pump you full with antipsychotics and other stuff. You can't refuse because the JA gives them permittion to do what you want. But you have to be seriously mentally ill or criminally insane to get that. Otherwise you can go away whenever you want😉 the people who work there will are that you don't belong there so you will be send away there to make room for the real crazies. Just behave like you normally do and you'll be out in a day. Or you are crazy😉then behave different

Lol wow ok I guess if you find yourself in a position like that your in a pickle but I think I would be up front and ask them why I'm there to begin with unless you already know and if so work from that but keep your calm and ask to speek with someone in charge. But be on your toes sorta speek and hope that there is someone on the outside that is trying to get you out if not just be calm and work through it don't be a threat an anyway doctors now are not like they were back when they could lock you up and throw away the key it takes to much money to keep you a long time so there's people that evaluate patients every month trust me who ever is footing the bill will want to know why

This is hard one for sure. I most likely tell the people in them
mental ward units don't take the medications cause all they will do
is make you feel worst. I think people who take psyche medications
don't live a long life but hard to figure out.
