Maybe New York but due to lack of experience. I lived in LA and worked in Hollywood for a good while. I did not like many of the people I met that much. You know like that uptight type that drives some environment-friendly car and gives you an earful when you order rice about how it's not really very good for you. I don't click with those. Some of the people I got along with best in the US as far as states go are Texans. I might do better with New Yorkers at least.

Also, this is nit-picky but I don't like people who talk with a nasal voice. That hardly describes all people I dealt with in places like Burbank but I encountered a lot, and it comes across kind of feminine and sarcastic to me, and I find a matching personality there more often than not which I don't get along with. I like those who speak with a more hearty and guttural sound. I really like Texans. But one of my friends is a New Yorker. I like her a lot. Not sure if that's true of the general experience since I've spent very little time in New York. I just know I don't like L. A. all that much.

We're looking for another property to buy in sunny SoCal (not necessarily in L. A.) but we'll hold off for now.

New York. L. A. is too far south for me. I already live in the north so I'm used to cold weather.

Not crazy about either city, but if we are picking one of those two, I guess I'd go with L. A.
