What are your thoughts on this Epictetus quote?
wot r ye thots!
It doesn't seem very compatible with an exploratory mindset

Description
Epictetus was a Greek Stoic philosopher. He was born a slave at Hierapolis, Phrygia and lived in Rome until his banishment, when he went to Nicopolis in northwestern Greece for the rest of his life. His teachings were written down and published by his pupil Arrian in his Discourses and Enchiridion.
I disagree with it. I think that in life, we have to go after what we want.

Waiting until what you desire falls in your lap is not a very wise strategy for life. If you don't ask you don't get. You don't have to be grasping, but you can certainly work towards getting what you want.
Too small to read on this little tiny cell phone. Can’t get it to enlarge
😂 damn I didn't even think about that. Here's the quote:
Remember that you must behave in life as at a dinner party. Is anything brought around to you? Put out your hand and take your share with moderation. Does it pass by you? Don’t stop it. Is it not yet come? Don’t stretch your desire towards it, but wait till it reaches you. Do this with regard to children, to a wife, to public posts, to riches, and you will eventually be a worthy partner of the feasts of the gods.
You want me to pass my child and wife around the dinner table?
😂 It's supposed to symbolize how someone should go through life. Talking about how we should prioritize the here and now instead of dwelling on the past and future.
Lol man you nailed it, killed it, drilled it lol😂 even Epictetus would be laughing at this 🤣 from heaven or hell don't know where he went 😇🤣
There needs to be more movies featuring the great stoics. I'd watch tf outa them
It seems like the message is patience and humility. But I don't fully agree that you shouldn't plainly state what you want.
It's all the way you look at life.
I agree :)
It sounds like Epictetus is saying good things come to he who waits. Well I'm still waiting.
