Anyone else excited? Has your local town or city put up their decorations?
Are you excited for the holidays?

I used to LOVE the Christmas season with festively decorate yards, avenues, stores and cities.
I have a million Christmas tree decorations that I collected over the years and used to look forward to having a big tree in my living room. But Christmas trees have gotten very expensive and they are a hassle to transport, set up, take down and dispose of when it's just for my wife and I.
No one can see our house where we live, so we don't decorate the outside, but we do decorate the inside a bit and fill it with good scents.
Christmas was a huge thrill as a kid and I have super happy memories of presents and family get togethers.
I even used to like shopping. But I have developed a great distaste for consumerism. The reason for Christmas shouldn't be buying tons of shit.
What I love most about the Christmas season is the idea of "good will toward men", cheerfulness, celebration, charity, love and kindness. It's a time to get together with friends and family and be grateful.
Paintings of old time Christmas scenes fill my heart with warmth.
For about 15 years, my wife and I made our own Christmas cards to send out to almost 150 people. She's a photographer and Photoshop expert. We'd think of creative fantasies and would collaborate as she brought them to life. I would write sentiments or poems for the inside. We'd have them professionally printed and folded. They were so fun that some people said they saved every one.
Our nearby, cute, historic town used to celebrate Victorian Christmas every weekend in December. It was all decorated and had a street fair with vendors selling all kinds of fun things. The shops were decorated and festive inside. Some even had free snacks and hot cider. There were people in Victorian-era costumes, Santa and Mrs. Clause, musicians, carolers and entertainers. There was even a guy who roasted chestnuts over an open fire. I really loved it.
But the mother fucking city counsel cancelled it last year because of covid. I'm not sure if they will allow it this year, but fuck it and fuck them. I don't want to be around covidiots and maskers who surrendered their humanity.
Neither my wife nor I have family nearby. We used to get together with various friends throughout the month, but our list of friends has narrowed because of covid hysteria. But we still have some old friends and have made new ones. So, we'll get together with people here and there prior to Christmas, and we have plans to celebrate and have a feast with a group of a dozen or so friends on Christmas day. I love those kinds of get togethers.
My wife will go on some drives to look at Christmas lights. But when she's not working, we'll spend a lot of time together, eating good food, watching Christmas movies, and snuggling in our warm, cozy home in the country, surrounded by nature.
So I AM looking forward to the Christmas season (which, in the U. S., begins after Thanksgiving), but not as much as I used to in the bc (before covid) era. The way government has destroyed society for reasons that have nothing to do with public health really pisses me off. And the way some people have bought into it pisses me off even more. They don't know the meaning of Christmas and deserve to live in loneliness and isolation. It's what they chose.
My wife and I will celebrate the holidays as we always have, relishing life with others who remember what it is to be human.
Nope cause it's still early...
Alao we need to understand the real spirit of Christmas which are: "love, forgiveness, giving and making others happy and on the top of them to remember the value and importance of your family if your married or not" 🙂
In the earlier years, I spent the holidays playing with my cousins kids but now that they have computer games on their phone, they are no longer interested in social activities with me and my cousin and I both hate each other so we don’t talk at all when our families visit each other. Sometimes we sing karaoke or watch performances or play video games in their living room and other times I go to their house to eat and work out.
Yes, super excited! Neighbours have put up Christmas lights since the end of October that’s how excited they are 😅. I can’t wait to be able relax from the stresses of working. We are also moving into a new place so that is something to look forward to too!

I like the holidays a lot. I am listening to the music already.
Is Halloween a thing in London?
Yes it is but not as big as it is in the US
I’m super excited as it will be my first Christmas ever. My SO celebrates Christmas, whereas my religion does not.
So, it will be my first experience 😊
Omg yes, I love the holidays. Thanksgiving cause of all the food (this girl loves to eat) and Christmas cause of all the shopping, the lights, decorations, food, all the holiday cheer. I just love the holidays.
Just throw some Christmas lights into that pumpkin and you're good to go. 😅
Not looking forward to it too much, as i like to ride my motorbike more than skiing.
Looool sounds like a good idea
I find holidays exhausting lol
My husband LOOOVES Christmas. Two very different vibes in this house 😂😂😂
My only family is my mom and she’s hated me my entire life. The holidays are weird ever since I decided it wasn’t worth going home to her alcoholic craziness.
Aw girl!! I am sorry. My extended family are also all away so it won't be a warm Christmas in that sense. I try to enjoy the London Christmas lights and movies. I may also spend the day with a friend.
No not at all. The holidays are too much of a hassle and most of the time a let down
I am yes, but usually after Thanksgiving. I think some areas have lights ready but not sure!
I love festivals and holidays. I am party person. I love when guests visit home.
Kinda. Love seeing my family around even though my sister and me have had to coerce some into coming over the past couple years.
Meh... not excited at all really.
Aw I can totally imagine!!! I’m sure they all appreciate it
I am enthused about the Holidays but not excited.

Nope, I am looking forward to next spring.
