Well, hello? Isn’t that obvious? July was named after Julius Caesar, unlike August, which was named for that prick, Augustus Caesar! (And we all know what an arrogant bastard Augustus was!) Not many people know this but before he went into politics, Julius (whose real last name was Goldstein, was in a boy band, and won Rome’s got Talent three years in a row! Once with his boy band “The Cobbled Street Boys”, once as a solo act, eponymously named “Julius”. And in an unlikely twist, the third year he won as a duo with his singing singing “Aqueduct Over Troubled Corpses” & “Me and Julius Down By The Gladiator School Yard” with his writing and singing partner Paul Simon! But both creative differences and Simon’s hatred of the name “Simon & Goldstein” caused the duo to break-up just shortly before Julius took to politics and became Caesar in 49 bc.) if you’re wondering how this can be true, given the 1,915 years between Julius Caesar’s ascension to power and Paul Simon’s first record with Art Garfunkel in 1964 ad, one word… VAMPIRE!

July is when I was born but I don't celebrate my birthday.
July is named after Julius Caesar.
Its the first full month of summer.
Wonderful weather. 31 days.

Definitely going to the mountains for 10 or 20 days.

In the valley, where I live it is usually a 101 or so... but I'll drive up the mountain with my trailer and it will be 75 for the high, with lows down to the 40's... it is so nice to get out of the heat for that time and make a hot July a little shorter.

Lots of hiking, riding and other fun stuff up there at 10,000 feet too... even if the air is a bit thinner. This year we might even go to 12,000 feet, see how that works out.

Summerfest! End of June and first week of July we have a Summerfest in my city. I am going tonight to see Stone Temple Pilots and then 2 Chainz. I wanted to go last Saturday to see little Wayne & Wiz Khalifa, but kids today are crazy..
