He likes someone that doesn't exist, should I come clean eventually?

I've always liked the same guy since we were in 5th grade. He's a different kid from the others; mature and smart for his age, always tries seeing the good in people and overall seems like a loving soul.

Out of embarrassment if him or others found out, I acted either indifferent, moody or insulting towards him. If it was just the two of us, then we would sometimes have a random conversation. He used to get confused why I was nicer other days. As we got older, I've mellowed but tried not to make it obvious.

Anyway, I've created a fake username, whom he really believes it's a new girl from another school. With the help of a friend, I've borrowed someone's fake profile picture. He chats with her a lot (it's really me in secret) and it has been going on for 4 months now. He really likes her and wants to see her one day in person. In one of their conversation, he actually mentioned to her about me (unaware he's been talking to me the whole time) and admitted I had good qualities too but I was somewhat mean to him back then.

That girl from another school he's talking to doesn't exist. It's me the whole time under a different username. This secret has been going on for too long that some days I just feel like coming clean already. It sounds like he wanted to like me back but only liked me when I was nicer. So should I come clean?
