And do you think it would really keep anyone from trying to break into your house? N ow the real question is, would you be so bold as to back up its warning?
I would never display that in California - it would definitely be spun against me. California actually isn't terrible about home defense legally, but if you give the DA any legal leverage, it's almost certainly going to be used against you.
My house doesn't look like it very much, but it's something of a fortress. Some of the defenses are easy to see - I have a Class IV security screen door, for example, and my security cameras can be seen, though not easily reached. But many of them are much less obvious. My windows have clear security film on them - breaking a hole in the window is going to be hard work! And my water-conservation-friendly landscaping includes some especially nasty cactus plants under most of the windows (anyone stalking the house at night will probably walk into them...)
Then, there are the dogs. Both can hear my car coming from 3 blocks away (I can see them on the cameras jump up when I get that close), and while one of the dogs barks like a junkyard dog, the husky stays silent and hides and is prepared to ambush you. My dogs can hear birds or squirrels in the yard with the house all closed up - you aren't that quiet!
You can't get into my house without making a lot of noise, the dogs alerting me, and the cameras seeing you - and even then, it's going to take you a while and a lot of effort. If you make it into the house, given the time and effort that requires, I can only believe that you are intent on causing violent harm, and that's going to be resisted, with extreme prejudice.

Most of my friends would have a good chuckle over that.
But unfortunately, I attended a seminar on when you can legally shoot an intruder. The lawyer that was giving it. Said that a person had written on his gun. “If you run. You will only die tired!” Plus with his gun handling skills and range time. The prosecution said that he was just waiting to shoot someone.
Don’t know if the jury bought the BS or not! Even though it is funny. It could help put the noose around your neck if you should shoot an innocent burglar or rapist? After all. They have rights too! How sad!!!

No, I wouldn't. It's unwise to broadcast the presence of guns or state intentions. I live in a funeral home, I think the implicit message there would deter most.
FUCK no… and those fake flowers by the door need to go too.

I personally would not. I don’t even own any guns, anyway, so I’d be a fraud if I did, haha. It’s whatever to me though. Doesn’t offend me or anything. I guess I just generally think it’s cringe when people advertise that they have a gun and are eager and/or willing to use it. I don’t really care though, live your life.
Although I’d probably say burglars aren’t coming through the front door, so I feel like you’d likely be advertising to everyone BUT the intended audience, lmao
I would have no problem having that by my front door. If someone tried to break in I most certainly would beat the crap out of them. It already happened when I first bought my house. The guy tried getting in my dinning room window. My wife tapped on the window with a big knife and I was by the side gate waiting for him to come through. After I was done with him, i got him in the house and called the police.
No way. If God forbid I ever need to use lethal force to stop a threat, this is not the type of evidence I want on display.
i live in the country and make deliveries. there's one house that has four to six signs nailed onto trees warning that they will shoot me, each one more menacingly closer than the last. that wasn't a fun call
Nope, I am the typical Canadian that that has "Welcome Friends" on my mat and leaves his door unlocked.
Yes, I like the door mat to be used at my front door, this is a great idea.
It's dumb for 2 reasons.
1. They will look to kill you before you defend yourself.
2. It could be used against you in court.- u
if they make it through three different sets of gates... I'll welcome then and give them a medal
The mat assumes the burglar knows how to read, and even if he does, do you really expect him to take the time to read that entire message?
No thanks, I'll pass.
In my state putting that at your front door is legal suicide. Of course, shooting an intruder is legal suicide too, but people who actually love their families still do it.

That’s kind of radical telling somebody they’re going to get shot if you break in I don’t like putting that kind of stuff on my front door. I like to welcome people.
Hell no. I don't want anything with guns out for others to see on my house, let alone threatening to shoot someone
Nope. No need. Break in, either my dogs are going to maul you, or I'm going to kill you. Either way, you won't leave alive.
I grew up in Chicago; putting out a mat like THAT would get your house burned down.
I would if it was free, but criminals aren't going to read it or care.
No. Only an insecure fuckwit would waste money on that.
Plus, a burglar probably can't read shit, in the dark!
I don't hate that, but by the time they could read it on my doorstep, they would have already fallen down my trap door and into my torture room. 😲
I have the "No Admittance Except on Party Business" on my door.
“Tell him you’re on your way” they would see that as a threat and they would have an even worse to break into my house. I don’t own a gun but they might and then what? I can lose my life because of that
No, because it tells everyone you have guns.
