What were some things that you got laughed at about as a teen?

I just answered a question that triggered a lot of memories haha I was thinking maybe we all can share some now fun stories and have a great laugh together cause one thing I love is story times.

So I go first:
I answered a question and explained how I got looked down on by two popular girls cause I was a 16th year old boyfriend-less virgin lol
But also by the same popular girls group I was once bullied so badly cause I didn't know the hoedown throwdown dance by miley cyrus lmaoo or cause also I didn't know who Usher was back then and for not being obsessed with Justin bieber or for wearing a bag with brown handles kinda thing... ughh the list goes on haha it's so stupid looking back but pretty funny now haha
I guess it was easier times and I'm very glad we didn't had tiktok and everything else

I wasn't exactly "laughed at" but people were more concerned with how I acted. I was more outgoing in middle school and then switched into an introvert by the time my freshman year of high school started. It was odd to people who were used to hanging around me at the time, but they just kinda let me have my space at some point.

Why did that happen? Being everywhere is exhausting and sometimes you need time for yourself. I find now that having fewer friends that are genuine is better than having many acquaintances.

I would say reason I didn't get mocked is because most of my interests were already aligned with what the majority likes. I was good at sports and already knew what topics they liked to talk about, hence my previous popularity. In my previous school it wasn't that different from other spots in that they usually mock people who are in the "niche categories" aka geeks or nerds. I don't really know why people do that, but I was neither of these two. I would say I was more of the mysterious introvert with few words and a million things on his mind who occasionally decides to join the rest of the group. I didn't find it that hard to fit in, but I lowkey looked down on them for a lot of the dumb stuff they used to do (risky activities), hence my lack of participation.

Do I miss school? Nah. I think it's a phase that passed and I don't feel any need to romanticize it. Will I miss uni? I'm just more focused on getting the job done than I am on "creating memories" that by the time it's all over, I would hopefully have a good resume to show for. Parties are not my thing and neither is pointless socializing, everything needs to have a decent ROI or I wouldn't consider it. That's why I may come across as cold or not interested sometimes, it's just so ingrained in my psyche at this point that my mind switches off when I'm in these settings.

TL;DR The other kids were more worried about my sudden lack of participation than they were mocking it.

All kinds of stupid infantile shit!! In 3rd grade, I discovered I could make a duck sound so, they started calling me "quacker" and making fun of that. Then, there was some kind of brown glue they'd use on the walls to glue signs and papers to and, when the signs and papers were taken down, the glue was left and kinda looked like dried boogers so they started saying it was from me picking my nose and wiping it on the walls, they started calling me ugly, they insinuated that I was really stupid, I liked to sit with the backs of my hands under my thighs so, they started making jokes about how I was playing with myself. When I was 12, the dentist pulled 5 teeth in one sitting, including my two front teeth and I had to go a full year without anything to replace any of them so, they teased me for that! They knew I'm a drummer but, in band class, would never let me play the drums, even though I was better than most, if not all of them, I got picked on for being taller than most everyone else. Because I was growing so fast, my clothes, especially my pants, would always be half way up to my knees so, they'd tease me about that! You name it, I got picked for it!

It probably a couple games we lost that we should've won.

Funny how some of the least athletic people in the school would really talk trash about the team when we lost or i had a bad game.

We were playing in the final 8, and should've won, but they had a transfer that was built like Shaq, and she caught us off guard, and they had a shocking victory.

The whole team didn't go to school the next day. My momma didn't play that. She like pull up them boots. You goin to school.

All the haters talked so much mess and i had to hear it all, since i was the only member of the team to go to school

Most of the teasing I have gotten has been from people close to me, especially my brother, my father, and sometimes boyfriends. One time when it felt like people were picking on me was when I was in a really unhealthy relationship as a college freshman, but, they were actually trying to help me and they were right. in middle school and high school I only remember a couple of times other kids tried to pick on me and it didn't go the way they wanted (people defended me) and did not continue.

I was a white kid who was into rap music/culture PRE-Eminem, and I ended up going to a private high school with a bunch of rich, preppy suburban white kids. Most were fine, but a few kids really wanted to try to give me a hard time. Straightened out a few kids early on so it never got too out of hand, but people would still say dumb shit from time to time, laugh at my baggy clothes, disparage my music, call me a wigger, etc…. it just hadn’t been made cool yet, I was living in the post-Vanilla Ice aftermath, lmfao. Guarantee ALL of those dudes were all like 🎶HI!…My name is…. HI!…. My name is….🎶 like three or four years later when Em first blew up😂 I was just ahead of my time, haha

Oh yikes. Not much haha - that was fun when it comes to my bullying.

My teeth, I had a overbite, so that was visible as fuck. My hair: thick, curly - and I was forced to brush through it everyday. My love towards books, my clothes - always second hand or home made. For being hypersexual - which I didn't understand at the time. I was bullied for being a whore, alcoholic and doing drugs. Oh and I used to be fat.

For my accent and not fluently speaking Danish - that became a haha fun - laughing when I got to boarding school which helped my Danish a lot.

I used to get bullied for hate, they didn't laugh at me. They were just jealous and I could literally smell something burning when they tried to 'roast' me as if they weren't already roasted due to all that heat of jealousy. Not really laughed at but waiting for the bus we would stand at the top of a small hill area. Guys would wait till someone wasn’t paying attention to their backpack and roll it down the hill, sometimes unzipping it. I remember that.
