A lucid dream is a dream during which the dreamer is aware that they are dreaming. Sometimes controlling/directing the dream itself or simply enjoying the dream for what it is. I experienced one of the best lucid dreams of my life a few days ago and thought I'd ask.
Yes, I do it quite often. I often wake up and try to go back to sleep to continue the dream... sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't. I have also had lucid nightmares, where I know that I am having a nightmare and will wake up to get out of it, only to be thrust right back into it when I go back to sleep.

I read up on lucid dreaming and wanted to see if I could do it. I wanted to see if I could fly like Superman. I thought about flying to my vacation home. It is aboit 120 miles. I imagined flying over the highway, following it all the way to the coast. I did this for several days. Finally I did get to dream that I was flying. i am not sure but I may instead have been an a single engine airplane however.
I've had lucid dreams, but not the type where I can control the narrative in the dream. I know a lady who can tell herself when she goes to bed what she wants to dream about, and she will dream about that usually. I'm not that way.
I've had dreams where I am in a bad situation, say coming into your old job and finding a ton of work you have to do. Then you say to yourself in the dream - "Wait a minute, I quit that job long ago. I don't have to be here." Not long after I wake up with a smile on my face.

Yeah, I can even prompt myself to have more of them. But I stopped doing it. I think part of me wanted a break from the sleep paralysis & certain lucid horror dreams I'd have. They can be very thrilling. But some of them just feel a bit too real I'll admit. So I often found myself forcing myself to wakeup when I'd experience them.
I have once, but I rarely have them. I don't control my dreams as a way for me to actually relax and just let myself wander/explore the dreams instead while I sleep.
Yes, and it was amazing! Involved three girls (we all know each other in real life). Still my biggest fantasy… 🥵 There are sleep meditations out there that can help train you.
Yup. I knew it was a dream and like that... I know what to do.
I've solved some very complex mathematical problems from my lucid dreams

I’ve had many lucid dreams, but usually not enjoyable ones.
Yes, but like those old Serta commercials, once I wake up, they no longer make sense.
Yes they mostly had to do with the end of the world
Yes and it was cool. I also pulled myself out of one earlier, I was starting to fall asleep and a dream was beginning. Then I woke myself up.
Yes quite often really, but in mine I'm convinced it's not a dream, I been to some seriously weird places,,,
If it's a good dream, I fight to stay asleep.
If not, I'll try to just bail and wake up.yeah, i trained to be able to do this. took me some effort.

Yeah but it only lasts for a couple of minutes tops. Also I can’t control these dreams and just get to see them.
Wow, I feel very left out lol. I never knew this even existed :)
