I'm literally the only white worker at my job. Have been for years. (Literally the only time ot was all white workers the owner said we had to hire someone black that parents were uncomfortable). So at times I deal with my coworkers saying dumb shit. Well today one asked if I listen to country music... already a stereotype since I'm white and sorta have a southern accent. But I actually don't listen to it haven't in maybe 20 years. Then asked can I square dance and line dance... again very white things... and I'm just looking at her like no. Not all white people who live in a southern state do these things 😑 but was I being overly sensitive or was this racist... cause it felt really rude to me
Stereotypes are racist... but they do exist for a reason. I mean yes, it's a little sensitive. But the real problem is that you are feeling a little insecure about being the only white person. For white people we are not faced with this as often as many black people are. So yes, black people are more insensitive at times about stereotypes, then it is out right racist.
But that is only because black people have to deal with it on a more personal and routine bases then most whites do. But Black people are just as sensitive, if not more so, about stereotypes as white people are, they don't see how white people can be offended about being white.

If it's just once.. Brush it off, if it's consistent, it's racism.. And yes worthless piece of shit leftists, black people can indeed be racist, as can any other race on this planet.
None of that was racist. I agree that it's more likely because those things are more common culturally where you are from. They aren't tied to your skin color in any way... Black and hispanic people from the same areas may get similar questions and may enjoy those activities. Why are you associating all of those things specifically with white skin color?
Not at all, just uninformed. Some individuals have such narrow minds.

That's not racist. The question has more to do with you being a Southerner, not that your white.
Yeah, you're being overly sensitive. They sound more ignorant than racist. I wouldn't be offended by that, I would just think they were incredibly ignorant.
It could be taken that way. Depends if they were being sarcastic or serious, or if it was a group of them saying it or just one person.
lol, Ask them if they eat fried chicken and watermelon.
