Will wrestling ever experience a 90's era-type boom period again?

Will wrestling ever have another boom period?

So we had the first boom from 1985-1990ish with Hulk as the leading man and Macho, Piper, Warrior, Flair and the 4 Horsemen, etc. as starring cast members on both sides of the industry.

Then the MNW/Attitude Era which was from 1997-2001ish with Austin as the lead dog and Rock, Taker, Mankind, Hollywood Hogan, and the nWo shining bright.

if you'll notice there were about 10 years in between these high levels of fame and fan interaction; it’s been almost twenty years since then and there's been no boom period in sight.

So is it done? has wrestling hit its peak and forever settled into its own groove, never to reach the dizzying heights of the past? Why is this the case? Lack of true stars? lack of competition perhaps?

Will wrestling ever get to those levels as a cultural phenomenon ever again and if so what do they need to achieve that level?

Went from larger than life super stars to bad ass, rebelliousness. To... let's focus on the kids. As long they keep it pg. They will not have no booming era.

The thing is, it was the sheer spectacle that got people glued to it. It was like a monster truck arena if it took on the form of humans with muscles, flashy outfits, theme songs, and body slamming & punches also kicking….

The issue is, as time went on a lot of the spectacle lost its flare which could be due to age, loss of good legends, people wanting to pursue acting in a field that was not all about ‘wrestle culture’ especially since those that do it tend to live shorter lives also the treatment was cruel…. Another key issue is, as media consumed by Americans (and the world at large) grew, it led to ‘reality tv’ also more ‘television dramas’ which quickly picked up to Wrestling since their viewer numbers were plummeting and hopefully it could get viewership up with engaging in a more diverse audience (reality tv & dramas). They included plot-lines with relationships, villains, and celebrities to enhance audience retention since they’d come back wanting more.

I don’t really watch this stuff and I don’t like it, though I can definitely see why it blew up in the 80s though I believe the 80s died in the 80s so I don’t think it will ever get to that level ever again especially since the modern times are a different ballpark than it was back then. The corporation that handles wrestling is in it for maximizing profits, efficiency of profits so everything is about profits so they see this as their best way to make this business rank in the money….

With real combat like MMA, I don’t think so. I think the biggest takeaways were that in the Golden Age, people thought it was real, & in the Attitude Era it was at its most “mature” as in wild. MMA has both of those.
