For me it’s going pretty good. I’ll be 9 months sober tomorrow and today I found out I’m no longer on felony probation!! My charge also got dropped so I’m no longer a felon as well! I’d say today is a good day but unfortunately celebrating by myself.
Pretty boring. I lost the last of my immediate family 4 years ago so, no more holidays for me! At least not the way we always used to celebrate them! I'm all by my lonesome! Nobody comes to visit, nobody calls, nobody even e-mails anymore.
I got a VERY late start Saturday, going to bed at 9 a. m. and getting up at 5 p. m. so, I decided to make this another of my many recent 36-hour days (give or take a few hours). I've been up the bulk of 30 hours, so far (two short impromptu naps waiting for Mr. Computer to quit doing whatever the fuck it's been doing the past 2 days so I can actually USE IT!! (Third time this month it's done that to me!!) So, I had breakfast about 10:00 last night until at least 1:30 or so. I only had a shot glass of milk so, I opted for a cup of tea with buttered crackers. For some reason, I've just been too lazy the past 2 or 3 days to clean out the electric skillet to make something like scrambled eggs. Anyway, you butter a huge stack of crackers and dip each one into the tea almost completely submerged for about 3 second and then pull it out and eat it fairly quickly before it drops off into your lap. More than 3 seconds in and it'll drop off into the cup! Consequently, it takes a good long time to butter all those crackers!
And, by the time I was hungry for dinner (or lunch, I guess), it was noon but it took me a few hours to decide what to make. I made my choice and went to make it only to discover the dish I was gonna use to make it in was in dire need of a wash-up from the last time I used it and it needed to be sand blasted, first so, that killed my idea of having pulled pork! So, I opted for my weekly Tuesday night standard, buttered rice with chicken. Consequently it takes a VERY long time to butter each of those 2000-some grains of rice!! So, I had that and then sat on the front porch for about an hour, very bloated until I had to go park breakfast. Once I dropped the kids off at the pool, I felt better and my stomach wasn't as big so, I decided to take the shredder out front to get rid of another ton of my aunt's junk mail that she saved up for the last several years of her life. Mostly scammers from France and other countries of that ilk trying to bilk her out of the rest of her $11,000,000.
While doing the shredding, the next door neighbor's daughter showed up to see her mom and bring HER kids to see grandma! Surprise, surprise!! The two little ankle biters wanted to go door to door up here with an Easter basket full of plastic eggs to hand out and wish everyone a happy Easter. My house was the first they hit and, I pointed out my attack bunny to them in the front yard 6 feet away grazing in the grass. (He got more treats today that I did! I gave him two pieces of bread, today, which he comes around begging for almost every day and twice on Sundays.)
Well, having them come over like that was really sweet treat. I'd say they were 5 and 3 years old. The 5-er got really excited when she saw the bunny but the 3-er didn't even notice the bunny! He was too busy saying something I couldn't quite understand. So, that was the nicest thing that happened to me all day, although, I discovered that I have new neighbors as of a week ago! I thought they were just relatives of the woman that used to live there. There was no for sale sign and I never saw anyone move out so, I had no idea that Laura was gone for good! I thought she'd been back in the hospital again dealing with more brain surgery issues! I haven't seen her since at least Nov..
The other nice thing, other than a psychic hug and kiss from a friend of mine, was a scene in an episode of season 3 of, "Chuck". He and Sarah are lying in bed listening to a song he wanted her to hear and she rolls over into his arms and he holds her tight! GOD DAMN, I miss that!! I guess missing it doesn't make it nice but, seeing them do it and remembering what it was like after nearly 30 years was pretty nice.
After the shredding, I took a much needed walk, at least a mile. There's no place else to go up here!! This was my grandmother's house. At least at MY house, 4 miles from here, I could easily walk up to the mall (1.5 miles away) and many other places I need to go!! Up here, it's ALL steep hills everywhere and I HAVE to take a bus anywhere I wanna go because everything is about 8 or 10 miles away!! (Except for the mall, that's nearly 6 miles. And, it now takes me at least 2 buses to get there.) And the ONLY bus I have to get me out of here is usually 50:00 late!! The other day, I had a Dr. appt. and it took me 90:00 to get there on the buses because the first one WAS 50:00 late and the second was 15:00 late!! I left the house at 1:30 and got to my 2:20 appt. at 2:55!! I could've WALKED THERE in 45:00 and had 5:00 to spare!!
