I had my learner's permit when I was 16 and a half and I got a job at the Peppermill casino at the dishwasher I lied said I was 17 that's how bad I wanted a car
Some lady in the casino had a Galaxy 500 I think it was and she sold it to me for $200 and I fixed it up and I sold it for $800
And then I bought a 54 Ford pickup for $200 and I sold that for $800
And then I bought a Volkswagen bus was a 69 For 200 and I sold it for a thousand dollars
And then that gave me a down payment on a CJ5 and that was a mistake well I made the mistake I got my driver's license and went up into the hills to a party kegger and a friend of mine kept bugging me and bugging me to let him drive it so I did and within 5 minutes I was going down the dirt road looking for him and I hear this big crash Band Crash Bang but I couldn't tell which direction it was coming from in about 10 minutes later him and some guys that he was with comes walking up to me crying saying that he rolled my Jeep called a tow truck because it was down and a big but there's no way to get it up he's going to have to be winched up and the tow truck driver got it almost to the top of the hill and the winch cable broke and it went all the way back down again wrecking it even more
Since it was a brand new vehicle they didn't total it like they would nowadays so my uncle knew a really good body man and they rebuilt the whole thing basically but then I sold it a couple years later and bought a truck but yeah they were all good cars except for that cheap that jeep was just bad luck but I was stupid to let anybody drive it I knew better
Haven't had a car of my own yet, its always been lease cars.
The very first one was a Peugeot 107, nothing fancy but considering I didn't have my license very long and it was the first car I could drive myself to work it was intimidating but really nice. Just did what it had to, got me from a to b.
Few months later I got what was effectively a promotion, but they didn't use such scrappy cars for their internal people of course. So now that i had been promoted to an internal worker instead of being outsourced I got an upgrade to a 208 peugot for a while. Which quickly was traded for a Seat Leon which was probably my favorite of them all. That one had a DVD player in it of all things and I could program it to say my name when I entered.
That stock then got swapped and I got a renault clio in exchange, also a nice car to drive and it would have been pretty if they didn't put this awful company logo on it that was as large as the car and extremely ugly wrapping.
It was a black Honda Fit.
I took her everywhere.. My first road trip to the USA was with her.
So many memories. I used to fit 3 bicycles in the back.
It was very easy to transport furniture.

Cute..
And yes the memories always stay
That one looks cute and small. Mine was 2007 .
Yes lol. I put the back seats flat. It's an open trunk space
Only one was previously in the back. My coworker and I were going biking after work. I didn't have time to drop off the other bike at home. I don't really use that one anymore but my neices sometimes ask to borrow it.
“Hondaaaa FIIIITOOO,” as the Japanese say… 😅
My buddy just got one that he’s tricking up a little bit. He’s more into the “JDM” car thing. I’ll get to check it out soon.
This was one of those egg shaped civic from 2010.
My current BMW beats it in every metric but it was my first car and it will always have a special space in my heart.

ALL of my cars have been good. Lost one to a repo and the rest in car accidents where I either got rear-ended or T-boned while I was the one driving correctly. NEVER had a single at-fault accident in my entire driving history.
My first car was a 2004 Hyundai Tiburon in 2013. Only two issues I ever had was needing to replace the radiator and an O2 sensor, both of which were not terribly expensive back then. Beyond that, just routine maintenance until a person driving a Toyota Tacoma quit paying attention and hit me. Had that car from March 2013-April 2015.
The irony is my 2nd car was a 2011 Toyota Corolla and I had it until 2018. In that year, that car endured 2 accident. First was a T-bone because I had green light and someone ran the red in March. That November, I got rear-ended at 60mph while I was sitting at a red-light. THEN I drove the car to the appointment where it was deemed a total loss even though it was still running with a smashed in trunk.
When I got my learner's permit in 1969 when I was 15 and 1/2, my dad bought me a pristine, cherry red, 1965 Chevy Corvair convertible with a black top and interior. It was gorgeous.

I only got to drive it once with my learner's permit.
One day, my mom drove it to the mall and it got stolen.
When I turned 16 and got my driver's license, my dad bought me a blue 1966 Rambler American 2 dr. hard top, 6 cyl, automatic. It wasn't so great but I was grateful to have a car and had lots of fun in it.
Sounds like you were born into money
@Awesomesauce2005. Not at all. My dad was a blue collar worker; a top-notch machinist for an aerospace company. My mom was a stay at home mom. Neither of their parents were rich at all.
I was born in Jan, 1954, 9 months after they were married. And when I was 9 months old, they bought a new 1000 sq ft, three bedroom, 1 and 1/2 bath home in one of the new suburbs that were popping up after WWII. As a veteran, he got a GI bill mortgage and interest rate.
But back then, a man could support a family on a single income.
‘76 Ford Pinto, it was a decent first car, but i grew up in an affluent town. So my first car was a bit of an embarrassment to me. It didn’t hurt my feelings that we couldn’t park on skool property until junior year. By the time i was eligible, i had bought my second car; a ‘74 Oldsmobile Delta 88. I was happy to take that one to skool.
I had a couple hand-me-downs to drive around for a while, but the first car I legally owned was a MINI Clubman S, I bought from my dad…
Surprisingly fun car. I enjoyed it.
Mine was a 2012 Toyota Prius and yeah I'll never forget that cute little thing lol
It was amazing on gas and right now would be more needed more than ever with the gas prices lol
A second hand Nissan Sunny with a big dent in the back that my mate pointed out to me when I'd already bought it. So, no, it was a bit rubbish.
I've had two (new) cars since. The next one will probably be an EV. I might have to put a barrier up to stop me slamming my left foot on the brake, thinking it's the clutch.
It was a Chevy Nova hatchback. I drove halfway across the country in this car as well as many all night car rides. The car had a fold down back seat and I kept a sleeping bag back there just in case.
A 1978 Pontiac Phoenix. I bought it for 250 bucks. It had more rust and Bondo than original metal. And it ran about 250 bucks worth.🤣 I remember getting up and having to pump up the tires with a bike pump in the winter before school. Ahh memories!
Then I had 1975 Blazer
A 1980 oldsmobile cutlass supreme.
I didn't actually own a decent car till I graduated. And that was a 1989 Pontiac Firebird with T-Tops. I drove that for the next 9 years.
It was good... for me 🙂
In the back I built in a bed and a breakfast pantry.
First one I actually cared about

First car was a 1998 Honda civic, it had constant overheating and electronic issues no matter what I did so I went and bought a white 1979 mgb roadster and that's what I drove till it burned in a garage fire last Christmas. Then I bought a 1969 mgb GT and I've been driving it ever since.

1500 cc Spitfire. Cornering wasn't great, but it was fun even at lower speeds.
Nice I drive a 1969 mgb GT right now
@Awesomesauce2005 Cool. My uncle had an MGA when he was young, then an MGB. I guess he passed on his love for two seaters, especially spyders and convertibles.

1982 Renault Fuego GTS
Comfy, cool looking (in 1986!) But slow as molasses, however streets ahead of my mates cars at the time
Shit box Kia. Drove it to the ground till next worth hit 1 million. Also took public transportation for 25 years before that in NYC.
NYC, Brooklyn
No worries :)
My first car that my dad gave me because it wasn’t even worth selling was a 1976 Datson 710 but it actually lasted quite a long time and pretty reliable considering the body was rotting away
Mine was blue with a 4 speed manual transmission
1994 Lincoln stretch limousine
It needed welding and a new floor but we still doubled our money (I owned 20% later 10%)
It was a beat-up old Ford Mustang from the late '60s. A classic car in its day, but mine was a wreck. The best thing about it was the stereo system.
An AMC Gremline. Horrible. Later I had a Honda Accord which was ok. Traded it in 2021 for a cherry 2008 BMW 328i and thought "oh, this is how a car is supposed to handle".
It was a 1997 Ford Focus. Like a lot of people's first cars, the stereo system I installed in it was worth more than the car.
A little Nissan Sentra. It was a very good car. Bought it all cash when I got my first real career
My first car was a 66 Chevelle and I'm lucky to be alive
my first car was a Lamborghini orange
It’s a toy
I drive my mom and dad’s old Toyota. It’s good I guess
How old?
1966 Chevy Malibu - was my grandfather's. It actually had a fan in the trunk that blew air on the back window- no heater, just ambient-temp air.
I don't drive, but my dad had a car, this kind of car :P
Was it good? Lol, well, it was ok I guess...
I can't remember what it was. 😅 I've never been much of a car person
Vauxhall Chevette from parents but bought a 1981 Mazda 323. Both were decent cheap to run buckets
1977 Plymouth Fury 4 Door. Great car, big engine and lots of room! Dad helped get it.
The one I bought on my own was my 1984 Ford Ranger single cab, V6 4x4. Roll Bar with Lights
Don't have a car or license, no need for it.
A 1957 Ford ranchers had a steering wheel like something off the titanic. Hood held down with bungee cords, I loved if
It was and still is a beat up Subaru Outback. Still gets me from point A to point B and yes the backseat could tell some hot stories about me!
My first car was a rusty heap of garbage. I have no fond memories of it.
It was kind of a beat-up Ford, and it was not particularly good at all, but it served my purpose at the time.
Wow, you looked so pale in the 70s !
1971 Dodge Tradesman van. Quite comfy inside with a 3/4 bed.
2015 Honda Civic. Yes, I loved my girl. :)
A Ford Fairlane. Kinda gold color.
@exitseven
Cool! 😎
When I was 15 I was hitchhiking through /hew Hampshire and a Ford Fairlane stops about 50 feet in front of me. I run over to the car and get in the front seat. I thanked the driver for picking me up. He looks at me and says he was not picking me up. He had a flat tire, So I told him I would change his tire for him if he gave me a ride. So he agrees to this.
It soon became apparent that I really did not know how to change a tire. So the guy shows me how to do it. He gave me a ride anyway..
2011 bright blue Toyota Tacoma long bed. It was great and I dearly miss that truck. 💙
A yellow 77 Chevy LUV the 4 headlight version.
Lexus is 250 2009, still the car I use to this day
VW Bug
I never owned a car
Ford Escort wagon. Cute little thing.

I still have my first car and i'm happy with it
My first car was a geo prism, not very good
BMW..
1975 F-100 pickup.
Never had one 😑😑
